Does anyone on this thread know of anyone that tried to switch from BusinessAdmin to BusinessAdmin/Computer Science?
orientation is the 26th lol
@topchoiceschool haha, how sure are you? I ask because I was thinking about deferring a semester… if nothing is transferable, then I won’t defer.
@tleee12345 For UCLA, my CS courses would have knocked out CS 31 and CS 32 there, but they didn’t knock out anything for USC. You can try petition out of some courses like CS 103, I believe (since for CS 104, there was a review module saying that if you took an equivalent of CS 103 at another school, but if it wasn’t as comprehensive as USC’s course, you might want to review, etc.). I do agree with topchoiceschool that generally though, not a lot of schools seem to have courses that transfer.
@topchoiceschool There was a business admin student in my CS 103 and CS 109 classes. He was trying to switch over to CSBA and said he basically had to do well in these intro courses, but he dropped out of CS 103 (it’s a shame; he was a cool dude). So you can definitely do it, but you just need to make sure you perform well/hope they’re lenient if you don’t do as expected.
Does seem arbitrary now a total pile of crud to keep people waiting since May who have turned in their spring grade requests while those who have turned in grades late june receive a decision like days later talk about making it seem not worth all this time seeing as theyre basically hanging us out to dry if we get rejected after all this waiting
So I called and asked a lot of questions and the woman I spoke to said they’re still reviewing applications and we’ll hear back in the next two weeks. Which is what the majority he heard so I’m beginning to doubt the “decisions have been made” thing. Still holding on to hope!
Also thinking about the whole SGR and decision timing, they get 8k applications so imagine how many people got SGRs. I feel like it might just be coincidence how a few people sent theirs in and heard back so soon. I feel like once you receive an SGR you’re put back into the review cycle and they just continue to sift through the them in whatever order they’re “stacked.” Who receives their decision when is just based on that.
My restrictions changed on oasis over a month ago but I no longer think that had anything to do with a decision being made considering it was changed twice on the same day I gained access to it. This is just a painful waiting game…
Add another Marshall REJECTION to the list! CCC, 3.9 GPA in the last 2 years (3.7 SGR), 64 units completed, all GEs and pre-reqs completed. But barely any recent ECs and some Fs and Ws on my transcript from years past.
Did she say anything else of interest? @thepinksun any reason we’re waiting so long? Does it mean anything??
She said nothing that really stood out. She said they’re still reviewing which could mean anything from still reading apps and making decisions as they go or they have selected a pool of apps left that they like and they’re seeing who they have space for. It really could mean anything.
it’s just really painful waiting and wondering lol @CaliforniaUSC
Just saw your edit @thepinksun -totally agree with everything you said
@rmcdunkins 3.9!! and still a no go damm kinda lost hope now haha did u apply anywhere else??
@thepinksun are you a Marshall applicant as well?
@daRamz only NYU, UCLA and UCI (rejected because I haven’t taken Calc II or Managerial Accounting).
next time around I’ll have Calc II and Managerial Accounting completed, so I should at least be able to get into UCI. I’m also planning on applying to Boston University, Arizona, Texas A&M, and Florida.
@mcdunkins I think the reason why USC might have rejected you was because you haven’t completed calc 2 and managerial accounting. most people would have completed bus calc or calc 1&2 to be competitive. I’ve completed calc 1&2 and managerial acct(this summer) I hope that is enough for them.
@zettasyntax Do you have to complete all pre-major course work before you take those classes, where they decide wether they let you in or not. If i got in, I would be missing the science pre-major requirement.
@LadyVeee nope! annenberg
I GOT THE ABILITY TO BENEFIT VERIFICATION!!!
HOLY SHIT IM SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW
I’m dornsife btw!
@John6311 Congrats!!
