2016 - 2017 USC Transfer

WOW ME AND YOU HAVE THE SAME # OF POSTS HAHA @thepinksun

When I spoke to my counselor today she said the financial aid is completely different from office of admissions? I have something missing from my financial aid so guess I’ll have to just wait… :frowning:

HAHA Thats so crazy we posted at the same time!!! @MR.TRANSFER

@thepinksun @mr.transfer. Congrats you guys

Hard work and dedication has finally paid off. Thank you God for this opportunity.

Thanks and congrats to you!! @John6311 now I just have endure a little more waiting…

a lot of marshall applicants are receiving something already. I hope i get something by friday tomorrow x.x I feel left out

Yeah now I’m REALLY worried…lol  hopefully it doesn’t mean anything…
But congrats to everyone else

If there’s anyone who was or will be admitted for Spring and might be attending a CC. If you’re down I think it’s a great idea to still lease an apartment in LA and attend Los Angeles Community College or Pasadena City College, while still be active as Trojans like joining clubs and attending football games. I mean just because we’re spring admits doesn’t mean we have to totally alienate ourselves from the social life there. I’ve spoke to couple of transfers who have done this and have said that it’s the best thing to do and have said that it made their transition very smoothly.

Also, we most likely were going to lease an apartment anyway, so I see absolutely nothing wrong with this

@zettasyntax Is it true that If you don’t pass the placement exam, you won’t get credit for your Calc classes (for example)? I doubt that there’s a reason to not pass, but just hypothetically…

Has anyone gotten a rejection after getting the “ability to benefit” notification? I don’t want to get too excited without certainty…

@tkj2323 Don’t worry. That has never ever happened. They don’t look at the financial aid until after they know you’ve gotten in (which is probably the case for most schools, I guess). My financial aid for 2014-2015 (the year I was rejected) still stated that it was in-review long after I got rejected :stuck_out_tongue: There is 0% reason to worry or keep your fingers crossed at this point. You may do a happy dance; call relatives; buy USC swag; there is no doubt that you’re in

@itslife123 I didn’t take the calc exam, but I doubt that would happen either; they have to give you credit for them if they are transferable. However, if you actually do bad on the exam and need to take other calc classes, they might have you sign some kind of waiver stating that even though you did bad, you’re taking the class anyway and that if you get a bad grade, that’s the risk you’re taking. I hear that’s what they do with the foreign language if you wind up not placing into the level you should be at.

On a side note, have any of the people that have OASIS access gone on to check it after receiving the ability to benefit? Just curious because that would tell you about being a spring/fall admit (and I just want to know if the ability to benefit thing is faster than the ancient OASIS thing as I never noticed the ATB during my application cycle last year) :stuck_out_tongue:

@transfercool have you figured out on what you’re going to do for Fall?

@zettasyntax my restrictions changed today at 4:50mp PST and I didn’t see the ability to benefit till around 10pm

@zettasyntax that’s fantastic news!! wow! Thank you!

Marshall applicant and havent received the ability to benefit… starting to freak out :frowning:

HEY GUYS!! I’m sorry for responding now because I had work until 11:30pm and what not but…
I GOT ACCEPTED…I received an email from USC this morning requesting additional financial aid documents to process and then i went about my day…I then checked my portal like 5 minutes before I had to leave for work and my left side of the screen read admissions decision and the right top said #igotintoUSC or something like that. ANYWAY…it seems the financial aid emails are good indicators of acceptance…i got accepted into DORNSIFE as a psychology major. If you would like my stats let me know and I wish you guys (who haven’t found out yet) all the best…but I still feel like you guys have nothing to worry about.!! I’ll be praying for you guys <3

@albaab congrats! Yes, what are you stats? They’ll be extremely helpful for future applicants. And did you get accepted for fall or spring

@thepinksun Hmm, so I wonder how much faster OASIS actually is since it’s likely you’ll find out about your acceptance tomorrow or so going by the trend. If anything OASIS might barely let you know a few hours earlier before you normally find out which semester you were accepted for, so I wonder if it’s really all that helpful.
