@chjd22 if you have over thirty units you do not need to send sat or act scores
.@chjd22 even if u did complete 30+ units by spring 2016, u still need to submit the scores. They do not take your scores into account unless you have less than 30 units. If you did not take either test, let them know.
@chjd22 did you have 30+ units at the time of application?
I did not have 30 units completed at the time I applied but I do now. I didn’t think I needed to send them but I guess I do. It’s weird I’ve gotten this far without them asking for them.
@chjd22 yeah it depends on how many you had when you applied, which usually means you have to send them if you’re an incoming sophomore
Here are my stats
I am a Junior transfer accepted as Undeclared for Fall 2016! (I applied to Annenberg for Comm.)
I received my acceptance around 12 pm est via the portal today!
Received SGR: 05/18 - unofficial grades sent the same day via the portal.
Received Ability to benefit last night at around 10pm est
Oasis Restrictions changed May 25th and again, July 7th at 4:50pm
My overall GPA 3.46 (fall: 3.81, spring: 3.44) [overall I had mostly all As and Bs and only 1 C freshman year due to tough family circumstances that were explained]
GEs: (Started pre fall 2015) I completed III and IV. I didn’t complete 2/4 that could be taken my own school.
Pre Reqs: I completed all of them.
My essays: they were about a 9/10. I just poured my heart out about my passion for production and media and how USC would prepare me for a career in that field.
Extra Curriculars: I did a little volunteer work, worked the radio station at my university for 3 semesters, editorial internship at a major news media company where I wrote feature articles and now I am currently interning for that same company as a TV production intern.
I did HORRIBLE in high school lol. People told me I would never get to USC but I went to college, redeemed myself and here I am. (I don’t care if that was lame lol). I got discouraged when I would see so many people with high GPAs getting accepted but to future transfer students, you have to show how much you want it. And I don’t mean literally saying it in your essay, but if your GPA isn’t the greatest show your strengths in your writing skills and extra-curricular activities. Don’t think your GPA will be your downfall. Show who you are in your essay!!! They’re looking at the person, not just the numbers! FIGHT TF ON!!
See you all in the fall/spring! Good luck to everyone still waiting! It seems like almost everyone’s been getting in at this point! Dont give up hope!!
@chjd22 you don’t have to send them in if you have 30 credits at the time of applying so by the end of fall semester
@CaliforniaUSC well i havent been accepted yet but i got the ability to benefit message sooo im still waiting however long it takes
but my stats are like
gpa 3.8 transfer gpa should be 3.8 or 3.9 if i added it up right because alot of my stuff isnt transferable
I should be around 30 units transferable
didnt take SAT
highschool grades honestly complete garbage sort of nontraditional student and well kinda community college work is a complete 360
essay was eeeeeh not to well done I put as much stuff as i can about the specific curriculum i would pursue try to pursue like a progressive degree they have
no extra curriculars but like i guess my side stuff is my nontraditional thing being a veteran
GE’s i go by the older articulation agreement so i did sections 1,2,3,5, and my diversity thing all I need is a language, math, and all my major stuff because there wasnt much in major stuff i could do at my school.
hopefully that ability to benefit is legit and that means you get in and not some tease
what are your stats @CaliforniaUSC
Nice! Same thing really. 3.9 GPA with about 30 transferable units, but no ability to benefit. Congrats on your acceptance!
@johnnyusc stats?
@californiausc do you have 30 credits total from freshman year? What are your other stats like?
Looks like you have a good chance to me
@CaliforniaUSC what was the major youre applying to you should try to email your counselor
I took 32 credits, but I think only 30 transfer. I took Econ, Business Calc, Stats, intro to business and business ethics among other GE courses. I got a 30 on the ACT and had a 3.7 in high school and go to LMU in LA right now. Currently in my second internship at a big tech company and worked 2 jobs while in school. 3.86 first semester and 3.91 second semester. Thanks @eoverland I was more optimistic before they made me wait so long!! I just want to hear back soon. It’s been a long time…
I’m Marshall, and my counselor is out of the office all week. I just called them (again lol.) and they told me I’m still under review and a decision hasn’t been made. I’m definitely calling her Monday morning though! I’ll be pretty bummed if I get rejected after all this waiting. @daRamz
It’s just crazy I feel like everyone heard back the past 2 days except for me and like 1 or 2 others…
@awalksonman I found this on their website.
“Q: So you’ll need test scores?
A: We will need to see your test scores if you will complete less than 30 semester units by the end of the spring term.”

@CaliforniaUSC dude those are kick azz stats i dont see why you havent been accepred did u apply anywhere else honestly with your stats i would have applied to better schools than USC
@CaliforniaUSC you’re solid. Dont worry. Timing doesn’t matter, as long as you get a decision. An acceptance is an acceptance regardless of when you get it. Call Monday, but until then. NOTHING has changed for you so you shouldn’t worry at all!
No I didn’t apply anywhere else. Thanks! @daRamz
I love LA, it’s my favorite city, can’t see myself going anywhere else so I’m just hoping that they’ll give me the chance! USC is so highly respected in SoCal. The stuff about the Trojan network is so true, I saw it myself all last year. Hoping I’ll be a part of it!
Thanks @eoverland
It’s so crazy to me I honestly never would’ve thought I would have to wait this long. I’ve talked to my parents and I guess I’m lucky they’re willing to do whatever to make it so I can go if I get in, since I assume if I get in super late finding housing, even off campus, will be brutal. I worked so hard all of last year for this so I’m crossing my fingers it’ll pay off!
