For those who got the ability to benefit required how long after did you wait to get your decision and letter man another weekend of waiting is killing me
@chjd22 Hmm then i wonder if maybe they didn’t find some your courses transferable? In any case you should probably email your counselor to be safe
How long does it take for the financial aid package to be posted after getting accepted?
When I tried activating my USC account, it keep saying my USC ID is invalid. Does it take a while after submitting the deposit?
@mr.transfer once you’re accepted you have to submit your enrollment deposit or appropriate fee waiver, and then after that activate your myUSC account and then it will send you an e-mail prompting you for orientation with a special link for you to sign up. I submitted my deposit waiver on tuesday, had it approved within the hour, activated my Account the next day and then got my orientation e-mail last night, so pretty quick but give it a week

Quick question for those of you already familiar with USC (especially you, @zettasyntax haha)
I received my parking lottery award (grateful I got my first choice), but I was looking at the USC campus map thinking it would also probably help if I owned a bike.
Is anyone who is living off-campus planning on parking their car but also biking around campus? I’m new to the whole bike thing so is it easy to find a spot for your bike/are there a lot of bike thefts? I would probably want to leave mine overnight…

@journalism89 SO MANY BIKES. All the freshmen and their parents are lucky the campus is relatively empty for summer sessions. I’ve had two close calls of almost getting hit by a bike; they’re everywhere. I can’t tell if bikes or skateboards are more popular. There’s an abundance of places to leave your bike. At orientation, they did recommend that people register their bikes in case of a theft - making me think bike thefts happen often enough if they have to make such a recommendation. It’d be good to have a bike though. I would get so winded sprinting from class to class when I’d only have 10 minutes between classes

Just got a call for an interview for the Norman Topping Scholarship!
@ProfessorX5 Oh damn, I got a call from 213 number and I didn’t answer it. I just checked my voicemail and it was some lady named Sierra inviting me in for an interview as well. Yikes. Hope I didn’t come off as bad, but when you’re in debt, you don’t like to answer numbers you don’t know lol
For all the spring admits, the Topping Scholarship is open to you even after you’ve been admitted, so it’s something to look into if you need some extra help! I made a friend in my linguistics class and she really encouraged me to try for the Topping Scholarship. She also mentioned some scholarship that she stated is impossible to get rejected for, but I didn’t pay as much attention to that one, sadly.

If i received the “Ability to Benefit Verification Required” today, can i expect admission decision tomorrow, even if it is Saturday? Or will i need to wait till Monday?
@ProfessorX5 I’m very, very shy in person, so I’m hoping I don’t mess things up! I did express interest though in being able to go back to my community colleges (like Trade Tech); it seemed like the most fun way of volunteering for them.
@johnnyUSC I got my decision on a Saturday, but it was in the mail. I also didn’t hear back this late though where it seems like the portal updates the day before you get your admission packet, so it’s a little hard to say =\
