Aww guys I can’t even make it to orientation cause there’s no time to register I hope I can still meet some of you at welcome week! I’m also probably living like with family so I’m scared I won’t have any friends
@bergamott can you try appealing for aid? My efc was about 7000 and then my final price was about 25000, so I’m trying to live with family or a way cheap place to save money
@bergamott some of that got deleted… Was gonna say the tuition sticker price is upwards of 50k, so taking loans out for 13k overall wouldn’t be too bad, but with cost of living factored in that’s quite a bit
@penntousc My estimated out of pocket was $13k, meaning that after all grants and aid etc, I would have to pay around 13k.
The actual package I got said I didn’t qualify for anything, so my actual out of cost would be like $60k+ if I remove their estimated room and board since that’s not available.
@ohwiseone I don’t know what else to give them that they don’t already have. Honestly no idea how this happened.
@ohwiseone did you try calling the orientation department? At the beginning of the week they told me that if I was not able to register for orientation by the July 14th deadline to email or call them and they could add me in. I was able to register before the deadline but maybe they can help you get in for the July 29th orientation. Their email is orient@usc.edu
@ohwiseone yea they told me the same thing when I talked to them over the phone last week. they said if I miss the deadline just call and they’ll try to accommodate me
So i contacted Jessica Frey, the USC liason for study abroad programs, and she emailed me back saying that the study abroad program is only for freshman only, despite what it says in the acceptance packet.
What are other spring admits gonna do this fall? My plans fell through and im interested in good alternatives.
@mrheha that I don’t know for sure cause I’ve only done a lot of research on bus admin, but my guess would be calc 1, bus calc, and some sort of statistics… I would definitely look more into that though because idk for sure
If you update your housing info to off campus will the fin aid office reduce your aid by a lot because it says that the amount of aid your eligible for reduces if you change your housing.
@ohwiseone I hope thats not the case, that would be really f’ed up to screw over transfers like that, simply because USC accepted them all too late to get on campus… not to mention they don’t really make room for them on campus to begin with…
I do not understand students that are likely sophomores or juniors in college asking what the requirements are for a particular major. Google people. Be more self reliant. USC has amazing websites for every school.
