2016 - 2017 USC Transfer

@GamerGal27 okay! Thank you for the info. I’ll be doing that when I go to USC then :slight_smile:

@zettasyntax they called me. Best of wishes though!

CS and CSBA have gotten in high demand per a Viterbit administrator at a road show, and they mentioned that transferring into those will be more difficult going forward than it was even a couple years ago. They are getting so many apps and filling with direct admits. Not sure about Games, cause I have a CSBA major so we were talking about that and CS specifically. You can always try and who knows how many move from those as well, just have backup plan.

@blueskies2day So I guess my best shot is to get a 4.0 with good essays and Extra Curriculars in that case :frowning:

@itslife123 extracurriculars do not play an impact on the admissions process. They’re more interested in seeing a high GPA with a somewhat rigorous schedule/course load that includes multiple GE’s and major prep completion. The essays and recommendations are also important because they use those to make the decision of whether or not you are a good fit for USC. I’d just recommend taking GE’s and university requirements that are transferable, and get mostly A’s while doing so.

Do not know if this thread is still being read or not. I applied as a transfer and was recently accepted. I am still in complete shock! I have not stop celebrating!

Congrats! @rojorockstarr What major?

So what’s everyone doing for housing?

probably living in a box @yagayeet

Congrats to everyone! If there is a girl who would like to live in an apartment with me and 2 other girls, please contact me! We are looking for one more girl. Would love another transfer here!

For spring admits, did u guys receive this message on myUSC? “Mandatory online training scheduled for release on July 22 has been rescheduled for the week of July 25. Thank you for your patience.” Since we are spring admits, we can just ignore this right?

@mrheha Oddly enough, I see that too and I started my first semester this past spring :stuck_out_tongue: From what I recall, they send emails with how to log onto the training, so as a spring admit, yeah, you might not get those for some time. However, as soon as they do send out the emails, take the online courses. I apparently forgot about one concerning alcohol and sure enough, they weren’t kidding when it came to placing a hold on my account :stuck_out_tongue:

@xerxes96 lol same

Is it too late for spring admits to sign up for the lottery/ waitlisting for parking?

@zettasyntax how long did it take for your training email to come? Just one more thing, do we submit a final transcript that includes the summer grade, like right now? or wait until end of fall and then submit our final transcript? Thank you.

@mrheha I want to say that it was sometime in December because then I had to attend an alcohol/campus safety training on-campus just before classes for the spring semester started. I’m unsure how to answer the second part though. I didn’t take any additional classes as I had about 100 units completed, so anything further would have been a waste for me. I would just wait until the fall maybe, but I don’t see the harm in sending your summer grades if you feel like you want to do so :slight_smile:

hi does anyone know how appeal decisions are released? i emailed my counselor with my appeal letter, will we be notified through email, portal, or mail?

Notifications always end up in portal, and most times are there first as well, so that is a sure bet.

@fan82372 you will get notified through email first and then your portal will update depending on the decision

@CADREAMIN @ohwiseone thanks guys :slight_smile:
