@zettasyntax What are some of the tricks?
@alexk97 I was thinking about the same thing. If you’re rejected you can appeal and write your explanation about the C+ grade you got in your math course. That will provide new insight and information about yourself that they didn’t know when looking at your spring grades. Is your math course a prerequisite for business? calculus 2 or business calculus? If you appeal for that reason and your math class isn’t a prerequisite I don’t think they will change your admission decision because it’s a low level math course.
@IBProspect123 It’s just that in 2014 and 2015, people have noticed a little bug/trick/whatever you want to call it in which USC pretty much tells you that a decision is made. It’s under something called “restrictions” and then you see your STARS report (which tells you what needs to be completed before you’d graduate from USC). In 2014, mine updated and 2 days later, there was a rejection PDF in my USC portal (I believe it was called USConnect then and not YOuSC or whatever it’s called now) In 2015, mine updated around 2AM on a Friday morning and the next day, I received my acceptance letter in the mail. That’s basically it. I’m sure lots of people are familiar with this “trick” though because there are pages and pages and pages discussing it in previous threads
I think there was even something about a tab on financial aid changing prior to the restrictions, but that’s enough theories for me
@zettasyntax If that is the case, then should I be worried that there is an option for me to upload an “Appeal of Admission Decision” in the Document Library on my youSC? Is that standard for everybody or is it indication that they’ve already rejected me?
@badmintongirl I have that document too, but it’s been there since I finished my application back in February, so everyone probably has that. I don’t think having that in your document library indicates anything.
@badmintongirl everyone has that on their document library it has NOTHING to do with admission decisions. You’re fine. I agree with @zettasyntax regarding theories about OASIS which has been proven to be true in the previous years so will see if its still the same for this years.
Im on the TTP and applied to Dornsife. I haven’t heard anything yet. I am very worried… Should I be concerned?
I’ve tried numerous times to log on to OASIS and I just can’t. Used the USC ID they gave me and six digit birth date to no avail.
Does anyone know if getting a 3.4 for a semester will be a big deal to them? Im having a rough semester due to family issues and hopefully that will be what I can bring in. My overall gpa is a 3.8 and last semester I did well with a 3.9 so hopefully they won’t make a big deal out of this semester, but what do you guys think?
@puykcy For TTP transfers, getting a 3.5 for the spring semester is a requirement, otherwise the admission is rescinded. If you’re not part of the TTP and they accept you without a SGR, I believe you will be fine with a 3.4 (unless u have any Cs, then I’m not sure). If they send u a SGR, I think u should try to send an explanation for your low grades. Good luck!
This last acceptance of applicants would be considered a wave? I have always heard that students get accepted in waves. When is the next “wave” due?
@TheTank00 The wave of decisions sent out probably amounted to a week or two of reviewing applications, so I assume they will start being sent out once every week or two?
On their twitter page, they said they’ll send out admissions and SGR’s all the way up until June 1st.
I still find it weird that over the course of one week USC only sends out a couple of decisions for transfers who happen to only be apart of the TTP. Then the next week USC sends out grad school decisions. From what I’ve seen, the three people that stated that they got accepted was on here. I haven’t seen anything on Twitter, Instagram, or even Facebook about transfer students receiving a decision letter. I’ve only seen grad students and the entering freshmen class. So I just think that it’s weird that only THREE people have received a decision from what I’ve seen. And yes, just because there’s nothing being posted on social media doesn’t justify anything, but I’m pretty sure they there would be some kind of post where someone states that they just been accepted into USC as a transfer. All the post I have seen again have been from grad students and the entering freshman class of 2020
Not everyone who applies to USC posts their decisions on the Internet. It’s really not that odd… @John6311 there could be many others we don’t hear about… It’s not mandatory to post your business online. Just saying.
@thepinksun yeah, true. Which is what I pointed out. But you’re right it’s not mandatory.
I posted lol, but i’m just private. I don’t think its weird at all. @John6311
Yeah, it actually isn’t weird. Nvm @faroutgirl
I read over the USC scholarships for transfer students and it seemed like there was only one real merit based one, the rest was random shit. Does anyone know how good of a chance I have getting a scholarship(s)? Im a sophomore transfer so going to be a junior
3.25 1st semester, 18 credits
4.0 2nd semester, 15 credits
4.0 1st semester sopho year, 19 credits work 35 hrs/wk

I’m a Southern California CC transfer Econ Major and my overall gpa is around 3.86, my parents won’t pay for SC unless I get a shitton of scholarships. I also did NROTC Marine Corps my freshman year if that helps
Does anyone know what would be the changes made in youSC after getting accepted?
