@hitherto Yup, that’s the one! I saw them sometime in March. Did you happen to see them around then? Wonder if it’s the same group of guys. I have to admit, it really caught my attention because it was just so crazy to be doing something like that in the rain
@brookecandy Yeah I was denied last week for UCLA too =(( it really put a damper on my hopes for USC. I really want to get into USC and it’s my first choice, but I’m pretty unsure what will happen.
@HopefulTransferr I think UCLA is a lot more difficult to transfer into because they have different transfer procedures as it’s a state school! I kind of figured I was going to be denied because I’m an out of state transfer, and I was attending a 4 year college. They place a lot of priority to CCC students, out of state CC students, and 4 year colleges last the transfer admit rate is ridiculously low in comparison to USC, USC likes to admit a lot of transfers
@zettasyntax I saw them sometime in the fall while I was walking to Starbucks It gave me a good laugh. My CC campus is like a ghost town, so it was definitely a sight to see
@brookecandy I hope that’s the case but it still hurts that I’m a SoCal CC student and it was still harsh denial. But I’m still holding onto some hope for USC. I know a lot of people at my college don’t apply because of the price and counsellors and professors actually list it as a reason not to go, so I know USC has less applicants.
@zettasyntax yea nothing i finished marshall’s prereqs, met the 45 qtr units, and sent in my winter qtr grades. but yea thanks man, i’ll give them a call to see if im missing anything i dont know haha
I just received the email from USC saying that they need additional documents for financial aid.
Is this a good sign for acceptance?
Hey guys I’m on the uarter system and emailed them a few weeks ago asking if my transcripts were correct because there was an issue. they told me sorry for the wait and that they’ve been overwhelmed with emails this month. So don’t worry too much and don’t email them about trivial things.
I just got an SGR in my portal
@zettasyntax From past years experiences were there a lot of people who got rejected when they got an SGR, or were a majority of them accepted?
Do we still get a notice of our financial aid package in May even though I received an SGR. @zettasyntax if you can please clarify it?
@transfer9999 question: did it just appear or did you just happen to see it? thanks
I applied to Marshall with 14 credits GPA 4.0. I received a message on my portal on 4/28/16 to submit spring grades. Anyone else receive this?
@topchoiceschool From what I recall, a large number of SGR applicants were ultimately accepted. I like to bring up this one case where a student got a C in business calc and they still got into Marshall, so USC seems somewhat lax as long as you don’t completely mess up. Then again, there’s people like me that got 5 A’s and 1 B yet still got rejected I think I was one of the only students to update their SGR then rejection status in the stats thread for 2014; I know people don’t like posting about rejections, but it can definitely help others get an idea - so I like when people post their stats
@mr.transfer No, you only get access to your financial aid package if you are accepted - however long it takes. I can actually look back at my application for the 2014-2015 school year and it still says something like “under review” That doesn’t change until after your acceptance. It’s usually pretty quick; I think I had mine within the week after I was accepted.
Portal updated this morning!
Accepted for Fall 2016 Marshall

I got my financial aid package this morning from USC! It only took them a week to process it after being accepted!
The cost of attending for me is twice the amount I would have to pay for UCs ( I compared it to my UC financial aid package out of HS). Just a heads up for those who are concern about financial obligations. Again it’s a private university…
@LACCryan I think it just appeared cause I had checked earlier in the day and nothing was there
