2016 and beyond wedding moms and dads (Part 2)

My preference is #1 or #2. The other two are nice but I think the halter style looks great on your body. Maybe you can find the 2nd dress online in a different color.

@twoinanddone I also wore a short ( knee length) dress at D’s wedding and MOG wore long.

To share a different opinion, #3 the gray one is my favorite on you, although they all look great. I love the draping and it looks elegant in an understated way.

Are they all comfortable? That would be important for me!

I appreciate all the opinions! They all were surprisingly comfortable, much moreso than the order I tried on at home.

By style on your body: 1;3;2;4
See if 1 has a different color option if MOB is wearing navy.
I’m not a fan of the black and gold combo, but the cut is nice, so I’d see if that has another color option, too.

I agree that COMFORT and not having to fiddle with the dress is important for peace of mind. Can you walk in, sit, and dance in it without worries? Does it wrinkle? How do you FEEL in each dress? I went for comfort, as there were several possibilities.

Oh I love the gray one! It’s classyand pretty without being boring. I agree that MOG cannot get away with black, period . But wearing navy ought to be okay if the style of dress is different than the MOB.

I don’t care for the short dress style. You are the MOG! Dress up like the queens we are!

I like the grey and navy ones. I don’t think the shorter style is as flattering on you (I thought the same with your first batch). The grey one stands out because it’s so different than most mother of the whatever dresses. And it’s very flattering!

All the dresses look good on you. I prefer the looks of a long dress, and I think you’d run less of a risk of a guest wearing that same dress. I think that’s top of my mind because I actually own the grey dress and wore it recently to a wedding that was very formal. The dress is incredibly comfortable. I like dress 1 the best., followed by dress 2. My question about dress 2 is whether it would look good in the pictures next to whatever the bridesmaids are wearing and whatever corsage you may be wearing. If everything else is solid colored, dress 2 would look great, but if the bridesmaids dresses have a pattern, your dress might look
too busy next to theirs.

My faves are #1 or #2! I don’t care for the rouching in #3 and #4 resembles the bridesmaid dresses I had for my wedding  You are rocking them all though!

I like the color of the royal blu, and I do like the shorter length, but that style is a bore on you. The gray has a nice design
I like the black and gold, but I could never go so glitzy. I do like the back. If that came in a different color, with a toned down color contrast, would be special

I vote for #2. It looks great on you.

I went back and looked at the pictures again. I like 1,2 and 3 on you.

I don’t think you can go wrong with any of these dresses.

Did you notice that you can actually do ā€œcustom sizeā€ for that blue dress from Azazie - you put in your measurements and they make it for you, to your measurements.
My step-d has been in a couple of weddings where they did this, and it worked nicely. I don’t know which sites she’s used - JJshouse also does the custom measure thing, and there may be others.

I did, but would prefer not to go that route. The extra $$$ and just it sort of scares me. I’d rather just find something as is. Also, the fabric of that dress wasn’t near as comfy as the ones that I tried on yesterday.

Betsy & Adam’s is the brand/designer that I’ve like the most when I was looking online. It’s the same as the black/gold one I tried on. They make blue ones, but I didn’t see them yesterday. But now I have some idea of what to order if I have to. I’ll probably try again in a few weeks after the MOB has picked hers.

I don’t think it’s an issue both MOB and MOG wearing same color. For two of my three both of us were advised to pick something in the same color. The other the bride told us to both pick something we felt good in.
Nordstrom and Macys both have a good selection online and make returns easy.

I like 1 and 2 the best – really depends on the look you are going for, how formal the dress code is, etc. Great to have such lovely options!
