2016 and beyond wedding moms and dads (Part 2)

I already told her! Lol. That’s what you can do when you’ve been friends with someone for 55 years!

Now that S1’s wedding is about wrapped up… They are enjoying the second week of their honeymoon in Hawaii… Now it’s S2’s turn to ramp things up. They got their engagement pictures done on Sunday. The photographer took a few polaroids to enjoy while they wait. They are just too cute together, not that I’m biased…

A little humorous brag… Last week, younger S texts “Do you have the addresses for our family? There’s no rush. Just whenever you can.” HA! do i? I was sitting at the restaurant table, pulled up up the OneDrive app, and immediately texted and emailed my Xmas card labels PDF. I have the addressed grouped by my family, H’s family, and then are friends grouped by category. They are all nice and neat and ready to go. I have them as labels, but I always handwrite the envelopes. S responded. “This is EXACTLY what I need. Thanks!”

FDIL2 goes up to her hometown this weekend to try on dresses. She is awesome.

Bridal party will be asked shortly after S1/DIL1 come back. They will both be included, (S1 as best man), and they didn’t want to do it before their wedding.

Wedding is next May. I know it’ll go fast.

Very thoughtful to wait until S1 and DIL return from their honeymoon. <3

How did I not find this thread sooner? We are 18 days out to the wedding of S and FDIL! Very exciting! I am very happy to be the MOG and not have to deal with too much of the planning. LOL. Just figuring out the rehearsal dinner was enough! My time will come though, S has two younger sisters!

Not only are the names amazing, but I’m in awe of the parents’ remembering they took this video 20 years ago and were able to find it.

We have all of our videos digitized. My kids watch them from time to time. There is one of our younger daughter when she was about 3 saying she wanted to be a nurse. Her sister clipped that part of the video and posted it to social media when her sister graduated from nursing school. And now that DD1 had a baby she’s going back and looking at her baby videos all the time.

Is tomorrow the big day? I hope the rain stops and it’s a lovely event in any case.

@cfmom i hope everything is running smoothly today! It actually rained on older S’ wedding. They did get pictures outside before it started. I was secretly glad it was indoors. It was beautiful and you didn’t have to worry about wind, sun, etc.

younger S/FDIL2 picked out the rehearsal dinner location this morning. Now they are at the wedding venue doing whatever one does there 1 year out. We are going to drive up there and take them out to lunch tomorrow.

Just went to one of my best friend’s son’s wedding yesterday. The bride wore her mom’s gown. I don’t hear about that too often (ever?) Her mom got married in the 90’s when puffy sleeves and sequins were popular. My own dress had both features in 1990 as well as plenty of netting under my poofy skirt, and a long train.

My friend and I were very curious how the dress would look. The bride did get it altered to adjust the puffiness of the shoulders. She looked absolutely beautiful! The dress had a ballgown-type skirt, and the top was lace with long sleeves and a minimal number of sequins. I love that she did this and didn’t hesitate in her decision to wear her mom’s dress. Her dad mentioned in the toast how amazing it was to walk her down the aisle in the same dress he saw her mother come down the aisle in :beating_heart:
