2016 Grammy Awards

So where can I buy, beg, or steal some Hamilton tickets?! Haha. That was great! Would love to see more.

He has had that opening song written for years – he performed it at the White House back in 2009 (you can Google to find the performamce).

You can enjoy the soundtrack on Spotify!!!

@lje62 You must be happy with the Alabama Shakes win!
I’ve been lucky to have seen them live several times.

Um, I’m kind of bummed that Adele is having some pitch problems. WTH?

Yeah, I have never heard her be off like this. She really is human.

Do you think she was thrown off by the sound issues? At least on my tv, it seemed to be a combo of pitch and audio issues.

It almost sounded like her voice wasn’t well. Like cracking from soreness or dryness or something.

Agree, not her best. That isn’t my favorite song from 25, either.

@abasket, I agree. She did have surgery on her vocal cords. I wonder if she’s been stressing her voice.

She didn’t look thrilled afterwards.

That wasn’t one of her better performances. In fact, it’s the worst I’ve ever heard from her. :frowning:

The awful sound issues and the fact that she doesn’t like singing live were a bad combination.

Disappointed that James Bay didn’t win. Megan Trainor over him? No!

I was rooting for Tori Kelly.

And I’ll be totally too old and too fan-girly and say that I still get goosies over a Justin Bieber performance! Also, not his best ever, but definitely live. I’m a big fan usually of his dancing.

^I actually like Where Are U Now, but that was horrible.

Not sure how I like this Bowie tribute. It feels a little beyond cheesy. His songs deserve better!

Never was a Belieber but I have to admit I really like his new stuff.

I think Bowie would be very happy with the Lady Gaga tribute. Two people that love/loved the glamour, theatrics, and putting on a good performance, plus the vocal chops.

I do think the tribute would have benefitted from a little more time with each song. It’s quick jump from tune to tune made it seem a bit choppy and probably added to the cheese you are feeling, @abasket.

^^^ I’m trying to see that cause I know you’re right but it feels a little kid-showish or something. I have learned to like Gaga and I appreciate the effort.

The crowd also seems lackluster tonight. No one up on their feet!

My bedtime has come and gone - will have to catch the rest tomorrow!

I can’t believe no one is talking about Kendrick Lamar. Amazing.

Hmm, I think Gaga is so talented. But that sounded like she was trying to replicate Bowie’s voice, and I don’t think that was a great choice. If she had interpreted his work in her own way, I think it would have been better.

But, I have to applaud her bravery in taking that on.

Two of my favorites … Chris Stapleton and Gary Clark Jr!!!

ETA: And now Bonnie Raitt!!!
