2016 Trending

The year 2016 is trending on social media right now the trend (according to AI) “ 2016 is trending now, in early 2026, because of a massive TikTok trend where users embrace a nostalgic, simpler time before the pandemic, AI saturation, and hyper-curated feeds”

I’m seeing it on more sites than TikTok.

Sigh. Those were the days.

What describes 2016 for you? What were you doing, where were you living, what were you wearing - anything! Hoping you have some good 2016 memories to share.

We began our “new to us” house search in 2016 (closing was in 2017). We have looked at more than 50 properties in our quest for the one that was “just right.”

2016 was our first full “empty nest” year - our last graduating high school in 2015.

My son and DIL were planning their wedding! :clinking_glasses:

We still had our cottage in :canada: (miss you babe!)

I was doing some 5k races - one in particular I did with my son was a summertime “by the moonlight” in a local metropark.

2016 would not be a bad year to go back to!

Really? 2016 was the year my beliefs were shaken to the core and life was never the same again.

Sorry, absolutely nothing good to share about that year.

Oh, I did forget about THAT.

I was referencing the home life, the lesser addiction to tech…

The moment I see something is “trending” I look away.

I was still working and my house was still filled with 3 teenage boys and their appetites and activities. My Facebook memory today was from 2016 - the day my twins got their driving learners permits and I was anticipating many hours in the passenger seat clutching the door handle and pressing my foot into the floor mat.
