im just waiting for a rejection so i can appeal already
@uscdream19 Did you submit what they asked for in the initial email? Also, who is your regional counselor?
Is it sad that I’ve been checking my portal every hour? I don’t feel so confident about USC anymore after getting my UCLA rejection even though I am more qualified for Econ at USC. Ugh this wait is killing me
Just got my admissions stuff in the mail…so I guess it took a week to get to the Midwest. haha.
@fightontom yes I did. My regional counselor is kenley turville
Are decisions on a rolling basis? It seems like a lot of people are getting accepted but not many rejections (if any). I’m wondering if they do rejections in later waves? Anybody know the trend?
How seriously is our alternate major taken into account by admissions? I applied for Political Science but my alternate major was history. Would be happy to study either to tell the truth. Do they strongly consider the alternate major?
@uscdream19 I have not yet submitted the required documents, but I have a feeling that it’s a sign of admission. I don’t think they would bother asking for information this late in the game if they weren’t trying to process your aid package. Where do you live? Hopefully a package should arrive soon.
@fightontom @uscdream19 I’m inclined to agree because several people with finaid document requests got in but it also depends on what documents they are requesting from you.
Ughh only like another month until we hear back
@mellyjune What document requests indicate an admission?
Hey everyone, Price Public Policy transfer hopeful here. I’m a current first year at a california community college, and just received a Spring Grade Request. Is anyone else in the same boat? My fall quarter I had 18 completed units, winter was 20, and spring I’m at 21 units. Is this a fairly good or bad sign or indicator of admission? From what I’m seeing, it seems like a pretty neutral thing to receive, but I’d definitely like to hear anyone’s input, especially if they’re dealing with the same situation.
Thanks and good luck to all of you!!!
@fightontom I live in redondo beach like 20-30 mins away from USC. I would like to think so but admissions and the financial aid office are two seperate departments so I don’t really see how it’s a sign of admission…
btw they are requesting the form for my parents 2015 federal income tax return for verification
@fightontom One of the forms that people saw on their portals before getting accepted was an “ability to benefit” form. One person last year got a request for information about their tax returns. (I don’t know how much that is related though)
Which forms are they asking you for?
@uscdream19 well sometimes people will get their finaid package first because their mailed admission and portal update was delayed (like maybe they made your decision and didn’t drop off your packet at the post office until a few days later) or their finaid stuff got processed faster.
It does happen
But again, it depends on what forms are being requested of you. Like if its a request for a document that everyone applying for finaid is required to fill out, it won’t mean anything other than the fact that they didn’t receive it for some reason
Just talked to my counselor, and she said that most decisions will be released by the end of May
Also guys, I went through the threads from last year for like the 20th time last night and it looks like there were several people who got their packets in the beginning of may but their letters were dated like the 28th/30th of April. So even if we don’t necessarily hear back by the end of this week by receiving physical packets or portal updates, if they follow the trend from last year, many decisions will still be made in the next few days!
@mellyjune The forms they asked me for were very pertinent to myself. One is about help received by ministry that I included in my documentation and another that asks about help received by relatives which I also included in my documentation.
@mellyjune I also got an additional request for my parents income and expense declaration… not sure if everyone is supposed to get that or not
@tc20498 Have you heard if it’s easy ttanager internally? I have a feeling we won’t be hearing anything for another month, but I’ve heard they also do conduct phone interviews to several applicants!
