2017 - 2018 USC Transfer

I also keep looking on YouTube and people keep saying they’ve gotten in (last semester) with low gpa’ sand not to be worried. And how USC looks at the application as a whole, which I’m sure is true but my gpa is like super low. 3.2. But I have a phenomenal letter of recommendation. I’m also applying for theater!

@breenicport I’m sure usc is more holistic than the UC schools are! You will definitely get in if you have excellent letter of rec and essay. I just found out ucla is all about prereq and GEs lol. spent 10 minutes on my UC essay and was accepted.

literally checking my mail and portal every 10 mins… the struggle is so real ughhhhhhh :((

@pomeranian4rich well that’s good to hear! Thanks for he encouragement

May I ask what you think was lacking in your application last year with your high GPA and GE completions?

@pomeranian4rich

I really want to get accepted by USC!

Pretty solid

@zettasyntax Thank you! Do you have an idea on how good USC’s financial aid is? For reference, I’m an independent student and my EFC is about $9k. UCLA was able to cover my tuition through university grants. Would you say USC is as generous?

Also - I see you a lot in the forums. Thanks for helping all of us out.

My letter of recommendations is amazing. I don’t think it’s gonna have a huge effect tho.

I have never been this eager for mail on a daily basis :))

@thnzus Poorly written essay and completed 2 GE out of 10 GEs lol

Hey, guys, this is super soon and I haven’t even been accepted like most people, but would anyone want to start thinking about living together? Maybe we could start a facebook page or something? I found a cute three bedroom place if anyone wants to chat!

So ucla also gave my financial aid package and they’re covering everything… geez guys anyone else going to the bruin day to maybe see if they convince you to go there haha… Usc needs to come out already so I can compare them wisely and the financial aid

@pantafootball2 what did you get in as? I was accepted for bus econ.

@pomeranian4rich Regular Econ my uc gpa is a lot higher than me Usc gpa because I took like 3-4 classes that were transferable to uc with As

@pomeranian4rich but congrats ! I know bus Econ is extremely extremely competitive… have you gotten your financial aid package? Are you for sure going to USC (chances are you’re def getting in)despite having ucla as an option?

Has anyone heard back that has Whitney Rollerson as their counselor?

@pantafootball2 honestly ucla has been my dream school since I was a kid so I don’t need much convincing if I don’t get into USC, but for me right now it’s all comes down to the financial aid they give cause ucla basically covered my tuition so let’s hope USC is just as good cause USC is a semester system, great programs and the Trojan network is helpful as hell.

@pantafootball2 I dont qualify for financial aid :\ my parents made about 120k+ income last year so there’s no way they would give me financial aid.

TBH, I was really surprised that I was accepted for bus econ because it is really competitive! only 250 are admitted from 2000 applicants. I think finishing all the prereqs before this spring really helped me.

@dreamla I grew up a USC fan and everything about the Marshall department and campus seems like the perfect fit for me. But the only reason I’m questioning it now is because everyone is telling me I would be crazy to go to any other school and that ucla is better. I haven’t even gotten into USC but if by chance I do it’s going to be a tough decision. I’m going to the event they’re holding to see what’s up since I haven’t even been on there campus.

@pomeranian4rich yeah man I saw the transfer class profile for bus Econ and it was crazy … I was like hmmm yeah I already got a B in a class so I’ll save my application for another major haha…but since we’re in similar positions what do you do you think is the better school ?
