2017 - 2018 USC Transfer

@tankle104 if youre taking a pre req class over spring they will ask you for SGR.

@Skepta Whats sad is that UCLA is looking more and more attractive. Guaranteed housing, already been offered jobs at the school, financial aid taken care of, Bruin day is next week…USC? Not a word. Come on…if it was not for the school of business I would already know what I’m doing -_-,

Whether I get in or not, I hope those that attend USC push the school towards being more considerate towards transfers.

Hey guys, Marshall applicant here went on my portal and got my SGR as expected … my semester ends June 15 so the wait goes on haha

Alright lol now it seems like literally everyone is receiving decisions and SGRs… I still have nothing, not what I expected at this point

@tayloralext Nope, no letters yet! Financial aid processed my waiver twelve or so days ago, but no updates from USC since then.

@penntousc dont worry yet, expect a SGR in the coming 2 weeks. Rejections come the last week of May.

@penntousc hey don’t worry. I was thinking to myself all day today before I received my acceptance about how I hadn’t received anything yet and was wondering whether or not it was a bad sign. You should hear something soon! Atleast within the next couple weeks!

Don’t over think this whole situation. Every applicant is reviewed at different times. Just know your application will be reviewed when your time comes

@cassidylynnn doesn’t seem like many sophomore applicants have heard yet general… lol I’m frustrated, but I won’t be worried until the end of next week… I think that’s a good time to panic if there were to be a good time

if USC requests additional financial forms at this point, is it a bad sign? or any sign at all? lol

@penntousc if Usc rejects you I’d personally reject myself your stats are solid bro

@penntousc seriously though haha

@gamjah I would imagine it’s good. Otherwise what would be the point of inquiring? But I’m not sure if that is something they would admit

Is everyone who is receiving a SGR an incoming sophomore or junior?

@pantafootball2 well thanks lmao that’s good to hear, I think it’s just hard for me to picture because I’d be coming from a place where no one knows anything about USC lol

These top private schools like USC care a lot about your life experiences too. They turn down 4.0 students all the time. They want to know what life experiences you bring, skills, ambitions, goals, hobbies. Etc just about everyone applying is smart and knows how to perform in school.

The true value in school is what the students bring. We can learn so much from each other and net work. They want the future leaders of the world.

I have to say - their transfer admissions approach is really, really archaic.

@itslife123 Yes, that’s what I thought also. Maybe she just said that for those who do get their results the last day, basically not to expect it any earlier.

@OhBeJuan I hope not, but that’s what the lady said on the phone… She kept saying Viterbi is different than all the other schools.

@tankle104 that’s true and it does look good, but that’s also a common misconception about USC’s transfer admissions process–they don’t take ECs into consideration. Obviously they help to paint a good picture of who that applicant is, but they will not make or break a decision. Literally every other elite/top private school does take ECs fairly heavily into consideration, so it surprises most people, however USC is a bit more understanding and in my opinion, they use their transfer admissions to give second chances to those who slacked too much in high school, or just missed the cut when applying as freshman.

@penntousc so from my understanding USC doesn’t really care about ec’s / essays?
