@austlara hey! I’m in the same position. I applied with a 4.0 fall semester for dornsife. I got an SGR yesterday. I called USC and they said just try to keep As and Bs for spring grades and you’ll be fine.
Just checked my portal and got accepted into Marshall. My financial aid actually came in first a few days ago. I’m an incoming sophomore, 52 credits (including AP). Transferring from University of Florida with a 3.88 GPA, all of the prereqs completed.
Unfortunately they only gave me 20k in aid and my parents are saying that isn’t enough. Has anyone gone through the appeal process for aid successfully?
@arteest1 yeah and i could pay 2 years of college at UCLA for the price of 1 year at USC so i decided against it (well you could technically pay 2 for 1 without any aid but my scenario just worked out to be the same ratio)
@uscdream19 i received an email this morning at 2:01 am
Anyone having trouble getting into the official Facebook group?
@tayloralext You had your noncustodial fee waiver approved, right? Hmmm, I don’t wanna say that that’s a sign of acceptance to give myself false hope, but hopefully it means something good! Also congratulations!!!
Sigh I’m p sure I’m getting a rejection, everyone from my cc in past years got SGRs by now. Guess there’s always next year.
@Skepta hey, the waits not over yet! But at least you still have next year… its this year or never for me…
Anyone here use USPS text alerts?? It sends you texts when packages or other mail is being sent to your house.
I just got an alert saying that a package from Los Angeles is out for delivery today to my address. Exciting news but don’t want to get my hopes up!
@jonathaanv GOOD LUCK!!! I have no idea how to use/sign up for those hahaha so I don’t know about me but fingers crossed for me too hahahah do you live in California?
@mellyjune I think it’s called USPS my choice. Google is your best friend for that one.
I live in NorCal and I am a junior transfer
@usc2563 your noncustodial waiver was just approved? Still waiting on mine
@arteest1 smart choice. senior at USC right now. School is not worth 2x UCLA.
@penntousc no it was approved two weeks ago. which probably means nothing because I haven’t heard back. my financial aid is still processing.
@abbysolo you might get a little more, but it looks like your parents make too much. Parents would have to make less than 40k in order to get a good chunk of Financial aid
@Skepta dont worry no one on this forum has been rejected. the acceptance rate for USC is extremely high so dont lose hope!
@usc2563 mine still hasn’t been approved lol… submitted it 2/26
@penntousc Hey, how do you know if your non-custodian waiver has been approved?
@penntousc I think I submitted mine mid-Feb too. I don’t know the thought process behind it being approved. Especially after being told that they wouldn’t do it.
@MakeItHappenUSC they’ll email you if it’s approved.
And the CSS profile from non-cus parent gets removed from required docs in financial aid.
