2017 - 2018 USC Transfer

@penntousc it wasn’t letting me do it on my cellphone either so I just went on my laptop and it worked

@jae2017 your stats sound like you have a great shot.
I currently have a GPA of 3.756 from an out of state community college. My advisor had me take a math class that doesn’t transfer as college credit, so my transferrable GPA is probably about a 3.9. By the end of the semester I will have completed about 61 credits (I am a junior applicant) and most GE’s. I’m applying to Dornsife for Political Science.
I have a letter of recommendation from my english professor and from the dean of my school.
ECs: internship, volunteer work, honors society, co-founder of a college club,semi- finalist for a national scholarship, I take music class outside of school, and I have multiple jobs.
I have been accepted to Pepperdine and Tulane.
The wait is soooo hard.

oh my gosh have you guys seen the USC admission Instagram story?!!!

@brixnx ahhh they’re going to make some of us very happy or very sad soon

@uscdream19 yeah that’s what I’m trying to do, maybe I should just try my phone lol

@SmokedHam alright man no need to be rude but yeah it seems like transfer students actually are treated differently than freshmen in terms of housing

I haven’t heard anything from USC at all. Should I be worried?

@MartyM based on past years’ threads, I think that if you don’t hear anything by the end of next week, it’ll be time to worry. I haven’t heard anything either, the wait is killing me but I’ll remain somewhat calm until the end of next week.

Nothing today either. Kinda just assuming a rejection now.

@usc2563 not time for that yet, I think a lot of sophomores will get SGRs next week. I don’t think it’s necessary to go into panic mode until the 3rd week of May.

I’m an occasional lurker on here but I finally got accepted to SC three days ago (Marshall). I applied last year too and got rejected. If you don’t hear anything by the second week, that’s usually a sign that you didn’t get in because the exact same happened to me and others who waited this long. Good luck to everyone! And if you don’t get in, just work hard and apply again.

Does junior applicant usually get SGR’d or do they get straight acceptance or rejection? Haven’t heard anything back since I sent in my application back in Feb

@JuniorMet97 what are your stats?

@brixnx I literally just saw it, and my anxiety just shut up! I am not sure if I should be excited or nervous

@penntousc the hearing nothing is super discouraging and ugh. I just wouldn’t be surprised if I have to try again next year.

have any other Dornsife applicant Southern California cc students here not heard back yet?

@JuniorMet97 The second week of what? May? That’s a bit pessimistic as I definitely recall another batch of Marshall decisions being released around May 20th in the 2014 thread. Not to mention that’s when a lot of Viterbi applicants hear back as well. If anything, if it’s like May 31st and you haven’t heard anything, it’s probably a bad sign. Then there’s old me that didn’t hear anything until June 6th :stuck_out_tongue:

I could see USC sending a lot out sometime next week, just to crash UCLA bruin weekend lol

@usc2563 I am a dornsife applicant (Sociology) and haven’t heard anything back. However, I know a few people on this thread have.

My stats

ACCEPTED to Marshall (pre-accounting)

GPA: 3.92 GPA
Santa Monica CC
68 units
All Pre-Req’s completed

No EC’s because I work 30-35 hours a week so I put down work experience which probably matters more to them than joining a bunch of clubs

Letter of Recommendations from my accounting professor & creative writing professor.

I really went all out because this was the last time I was going to apply. I also got into SDSU, UC Irvine & UC Santa Barbara. I really kind of half-assed the essay last time because I did it an hour before the deadline and I felt that might have hurt me.
