@itslife123 @usc2563 ofcourse that does not include the schools that have special requirements for admission. For example, if you were applying to the dance school you would need to go through their admissions process as will which includes going in and meeting/“trying out”. As for Viterbi, im not sure about how their admissions process works but i am sure that there are some engineering majors that require more skilled counselors that are knowledgeable regarding engineering to help make the decision alongside the central admissions office. Then again thats just what ive heard! The admissions process is very murky and no one really knows what goes on after we submit our applications. Im a Gerontology major (studying of ageing and development), USC is the only school in the nation to have a designated school for this study.
TO ANYONE THAT HAS RECEIVED AN SGR:
It is also helpful for you to post your stats on the stats and decisions thread, so that those still waiting and future prospective applicants can see how the SGR process works and who receives SGRs. Only saying something because I haven’t seen anyone with an SGR post on the stats thread, probably because it seems unnecessary. However, it’d be much appreciated if you could do so!
@penntousc I appreciate your dedication.
@Jesus0512 Awesome! I’m a junior applicant too! Best of luck to you!
@zettasyntax do u know if USC cares if an applicant only takes 12 units per quarter? I have only taken 3 classes per quarter this year which is considered full time tho.
and honestly, I feel confident about acceptance. I did everything we agreed to during my TTP meeting at USC. Still, getting nervous to see so many acceptances and SGR requests and not received anything. More nervous about financial aid.
Oh Well I guess it doesn’t matter because it’s not gonna change my admissions anyways. Thanks guys!
@witcher3435 At least you got TTP as a freshman. I couldn’t even get one with a 4.0 high school GPA/34 ACT.
@meliwazhere I was so bummed. Didn’t understand what it meant. It said “because of your ties to the Trojan family” but I didn’t have any and thought it was a mistake. Man, I was so relieved to find out they select some with no ties.
@shayanvafaee oh okay thanks! Actually, the class that I have a B in is my poli sci class (applied as political science major) so I feel like they’re watching me with that class ahaha
@usc2563 I’m just doing everything I can to help people be prepared. I was communicating with the applicants on last year’s thread when I was a senior in high school, so that I’d be able to prepare myself and my schedules as best as possible for admission, and everyone was really helpful. The reason I’m really confident in my chances is because of the research I did/people that helped me out and answered my questions, and I don’t think I’d be nearly as confident nor prepared as I am now if I hadn’t been helped. The info found on these threads can go a real long way for someone trying to put themselves in position to be accepted, so it’s good to put out as much info as we can!
@usc4ever If you’re considered full-time, it doesn’t matter There’s no need to overload on classes just for the heck of. That’s actually how I wound up with my first B
USC just likes to see full-time attendance.
so I begged my mom to fly across the country to check it out. Turned down all scholarships in PA so I could do the classes they wanted at PSU
@witcher3435 you’re in PA too? first one I’ve seen on here!
Sorry. I would have joined sooner, but I had to keep focused until after finals. Now I can’t breath half the time.
what they told me is minimum 30 transferable credits, mostly GE’s, with math and writ 150 mandatory; minimum 3.7 gpa; if even a C, don’t bother reapplying. It’s actually written on my TTP sheet.
@witcher3435 that’s odd, thought that for all TTPs the minimum was a 3.6 cumulative for the year. All the other stuff is basically what everyone else is doing anyways though. If you said you have a 3.8, I’m pretty sure you’re basically guaranteed admission, since that’s usually how TTP works.
but congratulations to all accepted. Good luck to all waiting. Hopefully we will all Fight On at USC this fall
@penntousc they say they can’t guarantee, but everyone says what you said. Do what they ask of you and you’re just about guaranteed. “just about”
@witcher3435 yeah, basically. So you’re at PSU? I know quite a few kids that go there, went to a HS about an hour outside of Philly. Cool to see another PA applicant on here though!
