@dreamschool211 yes i agree. do you think it’s because annenberg is really small/selective?
Abington campus. Saving money by commuting, but the travel kills me. Wasting so much time each day on buses. I’m in Philadelphia
two from my high school got in as Freshman. One is there and the other declined for Cornell.
@witcher3435 @penntousc I’m from PA also. Fort Washington Area
@usc4ever @zettasyntax I was wondering the same thing! My school is very crowded and has nearly 40,000 undergraduate students which makes it very hard to get classes & some people take 5-6 years to get a bachelors. So because of this, it’s common for students to be take only 12 units per semester, probably less
@gatsby22 @witcher3435 oh ok cool, I’m in Bucks County
@witcher3435 Lol, my TTP doesn’t say that at all. I had my meeting with my counselor and she said if you get above 3.6gpa then you are practically guaranteed into the school. Never heard about the C thing.
@meliwazhere I don’t think it has to do with grades. I think its just a legacy thing. My mom graduated from USC but for some reason my sister didnt get the TTP but I did in my rejection letter. The whole admission process is bs tbh lol.
@elokinikole14 that sounds like my school lol. I go to CSU Fullerton. Parking is crazy, too
In the event that I do have to try to transfer again next year, I only have two GEs left to complete. I’m still assuming that I’d have to be full-time, still. Has anyone who has been rejected once and tried to transfer again exclusively taken filler classes?
It’s prob too soon to ask this question, but I’m just curious and have to start planning for Fall one way or another.
@zettasyntax You tried twice, right? Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Hey everyone. I received a request for a SGR today. I am an incoming sophomore applying as a neuroscience major. Hope this helps!
@elokinikole14 I understand completely. At my CC every single class I wanted to take my first semester was full. It wasn’t until I realized that my CC was part of a network/district of CCs that I realized I could enroll in other classes, so my first year was a real waste where I barely took any classes =\
@usc2563 Well I certainly hope you don’t have to try again but yeah, I took pretty much filler classes. The only GE that I was lacking (if it’s even considered a GE), was a foreign language for my major. I had only taken 1 foreign language class, so I took another semester of that. Other than that though, I took the most random classes ever; micro econ, another music class, a speech class (I wanted to have CSUs as a backup this time around) - basically anything just so that I could have a full schedule. I seriously don’t think taking another foreign language class really made a difference. My GPA was even slightly lower than when I applied the first time, so this really puzzled me. Anyway, that’s a bit of a rant. If you do unfortunately have to try again, continue to be full-time and try to meet any requirements that you may be lacking. As for the rest, it seems like you can take pretty much anything.
@dvalenc7 I email my counselor about it and we said I am exempted from taking it because I took the prereqs. I think the placement test is for incoming freshman
@shayanvafaee is the real MVP!
@cooljon525 I can only tell you what she told me. The no C’s is actually handwritten on my TTP agreement. “mostly A’s, couple of B’s, NO C’s, submit spring grades”
Hey just discovered this thread, I was wondering if anyone could give me any hope for advice for admission.
Applied for Marshall Business Admin
Junior transfer
GPA: 3.64 (All A’s three B’s, but two C’s my first semester in Philosophy 3 and Precalc)
EC: PTK honor society, created a small business, part-time job at a hotel
No Letter of Rec, because my USC representative/counselor said they don’t bother reading those.
Transferring from SMC
Also, I completed all major prereqs except managerial accounting that I’m currently doing and for one General Ed section. An A for accounting, B microeconomics, A for macroeconomics, B business calculus I, B business calculus II
@TrojanTransfer89 Really? I asked two of my professors yesterday to send letters of rec because I read so many on this thread had them. They did tell me EC’s didn’t matter during my meeting and they never asked for letters other than those during my hs application, so it makes sense
@bugajskj haha thanks!
@TrojanTransfer89 you completed business calc ll, is that a pre major requirement too?
