@rawrrxboo exciting!!!
I tried to sign up for MyUSPS to alleviate the all-consuming stress that is waiting, but my address is apparently ineligible because I’m in Canada -_-
@haysunshine LOL that’s actually pretty funny omg
I feel like Hachiko waiting for the admission verdict ughhhhh
@dvalenc7 I took the math placement test anyway for fun lmao. I did alright but got placed into the highest math course which is math 118 or 125. I did it just for the sake of my sanity lol. It’s mostly algebra 1, trig, and some geometry. Kinda embarrassing that I did poorly and im taking calculus 3 right now lmao.
Waiting for the decision would be the worst training sequence in any movie ever. It’s set to Eye Of The Tiger 25% of the time and the rest is just silence
So then it is confirmed that we have to take a placement test for Marshall? I don’t understand what math we would replaced in after the calculus series? Diffy? lol
@angeleno13 thank you, I will keep updating!
@zettasyntax yeees super excited
@haysunshine hahah that’s funny
@bugajskj I’m almost certain we won’t need to take a placement test, that would completely defeat the purpose of us being required to complete calc 1 prior to transferring… and calc 1 is the highest you can get on a placement test lol
@penntousc Yeah thats what I was thinking…if we are going past the calc series I minus well have just went into engineering lol
@greenpotatoe yes! I was accepted to the Questrom school of business on April 3rd!
I just signed up for myUSPS, hopefully this helps my nerves lol
@bugajskj lol you’re jailed. I wonder what you did. yeah, math placement test isn’t required. my counselor told me. I took it anyway for fun to see where I would get place lol.
@zettasyntax thanks for this!! very heplful. If you dont mind me asking, does USC offer any programs, clubs, etc. that are geared for transfers to ease the transition? as of now, im decideing between umich and usc. I think the ease of transition would play a big part in my decision. However, I think a change of any kind cannot be seamless. Thanks again
Did I need to indicate anywhere that I’d be using AP credit to satisfy the math prerequisite? If I can even do that lol
did anyone apply to dornsife as a junior year transfer and hasn’t even received a SGR? i’m freaking out cuz there’s no news D;
@eden97 I’m a junior Dornsife applicant, no SGR.
@eden97 I’m in between being a sophomore and junior and haven’t gotten anything yet.
edit: “in between” so…I’m a sophomore applying as a sophomore.
@zettasyntax Did you go to the transfer orientation? Is there any point in going if you’re planning to commute?
I don’t mean this as a debbie downer, but more the harsh reality, does everyone on here have a plan B if they don’t get accepted into USC? It really isn’t the end of the world if you don’t. You just need to make sure you have a back up plan, whether it be to reapply next year or to just go to a different school. I would hate for someone to have banked everything on this and to not get in and have nothing planned over the next year.
@penntousc that’s what I thought too but take a look at the orientation website for transfer students. They make it seem like transfer business students have to take it. Everyone else has told me if we met the Math 118 requirement we don’t have to take it.
@pomeranian4rich that sounds like torture haha. I can tolerate finance level mathematics, anything else like abstract algebra or limits is painful to me. I was looking at the business course plan and I have to take applied business stats. The remainder of classes don’t seem to be math intensive. My previous major was Finance and Law
@Amaryllis85 I believe it’s important based on the orientation website. It is a $350 fee that’s added to your tuition but you don’t have to pay immediately to attend. You sign in, get a name card, eat breakfast, and then assigned to an academic advisor. With their help and your transcripts, they help you plan for your course plan at USC. You even register for your classes apparently. More info can be found on the tabs of this link http://orientation.usc.edu/transfer/summer/
