2017 - 2018 USC Transfer

@dvalenc7 lol i wish

@SMCSociology Once I asked a professor from NYU to see if he can review my application and write a rec letter for me, (by that time I was applying to NYU), he said universities do not accept rec letters from their own faculties.

@dvalenc7 I haven’t received any

Does anyone have Marcel Hite as their counselor?

I have Marcel Hite @thnzus

@Aurora7 From what I believe USC does allow it to be from anyone. Letter of Recs are 5th on their priority so it’s not a huge factor anyway.

@dvalenc7 yes…i just went on here to see if i was the only one who has been getting this all day.

also has anyone who has been accepted in early may receive their financial aid yet? my financial aid is still in review.

anyone here back from dornsife?

@TheWorrisomeGirl even after all those emails, does it let you activate a USC net ID? When I try to make one it won’t work and the system tells me to give it more time. I was admitted early May, but I have not received my financial aid as well

Got accepted yesterday into English (Creative Writing). Will post stats.
Probably gonna defer a semester and save some $$

Anyone hear back from SDA?

Still have heard nothing (Dornsife applicant)

@penntousc CONGRATS! Coming to USC has been the best decision I’ve made, and you’ll love it at Marshall!

Let me know if you have any questions about classes, internships, etc!

@awalksonman thanks! And will do!

should I be concerned if my aid has updated the 3-5 business days thing, but I don’t hear back this week ahh i think putting the usps text alert made me more anxious

@angeleno13 Mine says the same thing. Not sure if it’s the same for everybody or nah, but whatever it is, don’t count on it. Just wait for the actual result. Wish you the best

someone here mentioned that admission officers dont look to see which classes are transferable until the applicant has been admitted. So then how do they know how to calculate the USC transferable gpa, or do they just look at the overall gpa? also if they dont look to see which classes transfer until after being admitted, do they then go back and deny admissions if they find that a person only has like 3-4 transferable classes?

@Skepta the process of deciding what is and isn’t transferable is a lot less stingy than what people think, I’d asked my counselor what I could take/should take next year if rejected and she said that really anything similar to what USC offers will transfer, just won’t necessarily be equivalent or fulfill requirements. I could be wrong but I don’t see how else they could determine transferable GPA or transferable course load

@penntousc ah that makes sense. Also it would so inefficient to do it the other way around, like deciding to admit people, then checking too see if they have enough transferable classes, then changing the final decision once again.

@Skepta yeah and I think the only thing that can come of a bunch of revoked admissions is legal issues lol
