@uclatft It’s a good sign, especially if you haven’t dropped any courses.
@Shagunbali no, I go to a 4-yr private university in upstate NY! weird, i thought the counselors were assigned by area!
i called her and left a message a long time ago in January when asking about transferrable courses…then i emailed her around then and have not gotten a response since. emailed her a few days ago, and nothing yet! i don’t know how i should feel about this…hopefully, it’s just because she is busy and not for any other reason
Hey everyone! I’ve been lurking for a while, but I have a question now. What exactly does an SGR look like and what does it say on the portal? My counselor, Hayley Camin, emailed me asking for an official transcript. I thought unofficial ones were fine and I mailed in one in a couple months ago but I guess it didn’t make it.
My portal also has a missing application message asking for a transcript but it doesn’t explicitly say SGR lol.
Annenberg applicant btw.
@dhsalazar98 I’m a junior applicant but its my first year at FJC
Does anyone else have the Mid-Year report under the tab of received documents even if you have not sent one in??
So after finishing my first year at CC, I’m looking to apply to USC Viterbi with +30 credits and was wondering if someone could chance me.
College: An IL Community College
GPA: 3.625
Major: Biomedical Engineering- Mechanical Program
My biggest plus would be that I volunteer at a federal hospital for +150 hours in their Biomedical Engineering Department, but my biggest negative would be that I got a C in Calculus 1 in the spring semester.
How badly will the C affect my chances? And how big will my volunteer work be in terms of admission?
Also, does USC look at upwards trends?
@atjb20 that doesn’t sound like a SGR. It seems like you just didn’t send in an official transcript and that is what they are asking for. Unofficial transcript aren’t accepted when you apply. But this means they are looking at Annenberg applications, so yay! Good luck
@dreamschool211 I just checked and I don’t
At least constantly checking my portal has helped me brush up on my quick math skills.
@arteest1 do you think I should email my counselor asking about it?
@atjb20 that’s my counselor too! When did she email you? I’m hoping they start sending Annenberg admission decisions lol
@dreamschool211 Maybe wait a day and see if it’s a glitch that goes away or something. Then you could email and ask.
I remember applying as a junior, but I also may have applied as a sophomore…I may have miscalculated my units, thinking I would be having about 60, because I included my ap’s that I got 3’s on. I realized that usc only takes 4’s and 5’s, so I should have applied as a sophomore. I tried to find on the common app if I applied as a sophomore or a junior, but it’s not there. Should I call or email my counselor to explain the situation? Do you think they would tell me if I applied as a sophomore or junior?
@juliamay2020 she emailed me on May 1st and the thing on my portal is dated April 28th. The notification hasn’t went away yet
@atjb20 Same thing happened to me. some of the requests would sit there for a while after I uploaded the documents. Some disappeared immediately, my financial aid one just cleared today. I had the request for a schedule D for like a week.
@tankle104 @brixnx @ihatesatsm I also have Whitney Rollerson! She’s in charge of the Covina/West Covina area, as well as Georgia. She emailed me back today and is pretty nice~ I think they’re still going through applications (I’m a Dornsife applicant) and she said she would include something on my application. I hope I pass ;; Right now the thing I want most is to get into USC LOL
@itslife123 @stahboy who is your counselor?
@Shuisazn What do you mean she said she would “include something on my application”?
@tankle104 There was just something that needed to added to my application regarding other colleges! Sorry haha I should have been more clear~
@Shuisazn yeah I’ve actually talked to her a few times through email. She is a really nice person that typically replies. She replied to me earlier today about a question I had. Hopefully we make the cut!
