I honestly hope the financial aid doesn’t end up finally updating during the last week before the deadline. I’ve seen a couple others say the same, but I’m choosing between UCLA and USC and affordability is such as big part of that decision.
The NPC is using 2014-2015 numbers, so that’s not the most reliable source to get an idea of what we should expect. Even after getting in already, I’m still waiting like most of you.
@jonathaanv the only thing to hope for is that the amount of aid given has been adjusted accordingly for the new numbers… I’m less worried than you are because what I receive isn’t really debatable, but it’s definitely a little nerve racking wanting to make decisions but not knowing how much we need to pay yet
Is USC the only school that has an admissions process that is so drawn out? They literally take it as far as they can right before you’re forced to choose. I have a friend that had to make a school decision but his USC financial aid had not come through so he went elsewhere cause that school already gave him everything
Ugh, still haven’t gotten an SGR or anything. Prettttty sure I’m ending up with a B in one of my classes though, which would be my worst semester in a while.
@gatsby22 no, orientation is not mandatory but it is strongly recommended. If you opt out of it, you are later assigned to an academic advisor. They go over your TCR and tailor a course plan to your needs. After that you register for your courses. I’m unsure if the people who opt out of orientation still receive the perks of going to orientation, which is early registration.
They sent me a transcript request and not an SGR – it showed as Transcript [school] just as you describe, even though my transcript was already showing in the list of documents received and I had had it sent directly from the CC to USC, so I went ahead and uploaded another copy for them. I got a notification about it a couple of days later after I’d already uploaded the 2nd copy. I did not get an SGR so can’t say what it looks like. A few days later, I had my acceptance, so that worked out well just sending another copy to them.
@filopj1097 It depends on many things. There is not a clear pattern to tell if they’re gonna reject you based on your cal garde or accept you. It really depends on your whole application. But I suggest you to email your assigned counselor at USC, and ask if you can add an explanation regarding your cal grade.
not what region I would be considered as far as counselors. If I am currently at the University of Washington and my permanent home address is in Los Angeles, any idea who would be my counselor?
