2017 - 2018 USC Transfer

@Beanstock1001 What major? and if you don’t mind could you supply your stats?

Is 64 units the maximum transferable amount? What do they mean by maximum transferable? If we have over 64 will we be rejected, or will will we just not be given credit for our most recent courses? I’m trying to figure out my classes for next year if I get rejected lol

@sabkam It’s the highest amount of units that can be transferred. Meaning that they just wouldn’t count some classes toward your degree.

@alienman1234 Bruce Grier. I’m in the LA district. Met him once. It seems like he focuses alot on Marshall Applicants.

@usc2563 Alrighty, I’ve just read on a USC FAQ that if a student has more than 64 units “they will forfeit those above 64”. So basically that is what you just said, right? I won’t get rejected over it, but they’ll only accept the courses I took up to 64 units? Sorry if I’m being repetitive, I’m lowkey freaking out…
And does it work the same for UC’s? Some UC’s have a 70 unit limit and some have an 86. If I go over, they’ll only count up to those units?

@sabkam I’m not too sure actually, but I would try to get the general education things out of the way before the 64 credits, if that’s the case? Like I don’t wanna give you false info.

@sabkam you’ve got the right idea but it isnt necessarily that they won’t take any of your credits after you hit 64. They will pick and chose the ‘better’ credits that transfer. Also keep in mind, that not all of the credits you take will even transfer over at all because they aren’t eligible under USC standards.

Hey everyone. On May 3rd i received a message in my portal stating: “We have requested your spring term grades. We mailed you specific instructions on how to submit your grades for expedited processing”. Did anyone else receive this message? I do not want to jump to conclusions and assume this is a good sign. any insight?

@SeanHarris98 This is an SGR, Spring Grade Request, and it is the step before getting an Admission decision. If you want to get a accepted you better do well your spring term, If you mess up it can create problems. It’s definitely a good sign because it isn’t a rejection. Good luck!

@martyM It’s based on school, not home address! So it should be whoever is in charge of University of Washington

@tankle104 Hey, thank you!!! Good luck to you, too!

anyone know when the transfer orientation dates are? and can anyone please accept the requests for the transfer facebook page?

@usc2563 are your friends who heard back dornsife applicants?

hi everyone. does anyone have Stanley Liu as their counselor? I have some friends at UCSD who have heard back but I have not. Should I email him? I’m not sure if that will help

@Yelants admissions decisions are just starting to come out, I don’t recommend emailing your counselor asking him when your decision is coming because they are working on them still.

@alienman1234 my counselor is the one for New York… I think Angelica Gutierrez?

Hey guys! I’m currently a senior in high school and wasn’t accepted as a freshman. I’m planning on going to a CCC and transferring in as a sophomore. I currently have 32 transferable AP credits and after my spring term, I’d have 34 transferable college credits. Would I be able to transfer in as a junior?

@NotLonelyIsland Wait 34 units after your high school is over or by the end of next year?

Does anyone know if they tell you when you are admitted if you’re admitted as a sophmore or junior? I spent two years at a 4 year university (59 credits and 15 AP credits for a total of 74) and went to a CCC for a semester (12 units) so overall 71 w/o APs and 86 with APs. That should make me junior but my friend says there’s still a chance I’ll come in as a sophmore. Does anyone have any clue?
