I see, thank you for the help!
Also, do anyone know if the admission counselor is the one making the decision?
@yelants I know waiting is tough, especially when people around you are hearing back, the wait is seriously killing me too… but have hope! Its almost over!!! Hopefully we both hear back really soon with some good news!
@lasloth its hard to say until you get your transfer credit report completed to know for sure if you are a sophomore or junior.
It really depends on the number of credits you have, so its really hard to say what you will be until you get your full transfer credit report and you can see which credits transfer for sure and which ones don’t. Though there is stuff online that can help you estimate especially if your school has an articulation agreement, there can still some be major or minor changes. (Most likely minor changes, if any changes if you have an articulation agreement… my school only has articulation histories so I really don’t know which courses will transfer though I assume a good chunk of mine will…)
In your case, assuming that all 86 credits are transferable - USC would only take 64 of those credits max, so then you would be a junior in the fall at USC
@Yelants i have stanley as well!
@nayu917 34 units by the end of next year so 66 with AP credit. You’re at Fullerton College right? I’m planning on going to Cypress.
@sabkam mostly Dornsife and like some Marshall, but that’s it.
@mellyjune Thank you! Yeah I’ve looked at the articulation agreement but a lot of my classes aren’t listed as either “we will give you credit” or “we won’t give you credit” I’ve already spent 3 years in school and I wasn’t offered financial aid by USC and I only have the money for 2 years, so if they put me as a sophomore I’ll probably go to UCLA or CAL. They said the TCR would take 3-6 weeks and I have to commit to a UC by June 1st (I already committed to USC lol) so I’m worried I’m going to have to put a deposit down on a UC too if I don’t get my credit report back in time.
@lasloth your admissions counselor may just tell you to wait for your TCR but I would pick and choose a few of your iffiest courses in terms of transferring and ask them directly about it - it can’t hurt. Just tell them briefly about your financial situation and they may be able to give you a little better of an idea. Even if you don’t email them right now, it might be good to keep it in the back of your mind as an option as the June 1st deadline approaches. They won’t be able to look at all of your courses, but you can most likely assess which courses have a good chance of transferring that you can take a good guess, but there are some courses that may be a little more iffy, so those might be good courses to ask about and there will only be a few of them so they may feel more inclined to look it up for you…?
@NotLonelyIsland Ya, I’m at FJC right now. I started with 50 ap units and 18 CCC units. It might depend on what requirements you fulfill with your credit but I think you will be able to have junior standing. Idk if you will be able to finish within two years tho. All depends on what GEs and lower divisions you complete
That moment when your parents are like atleast you have a backup, as if they gave up on you, but In reality it’s all Viterbi’s fault for giving decisions out so late :’)
Anyone have any idea how many Marshall applicants still have yet to hear back? Hoping at least half of the potential acceptances haven’t heard anything yet.
@nayu917 I am a Marshall Applicant that hasn’t heard back. I know it’s a big decision but just let the whole process play out. try and keep yourself busy. I know I have finals coming up over the next 2-3 weeks. We will all know somethin within the next 3 weeks.
@itslife123 haha, same situation here
@tankle104 I’m literally doing nothing in any of my classes the upcoming weeks. Hard to keep myself busy LOL
@tankle104 if i recall correctly you go to pcc too right? what are your stats? My friend with a 3.6gpa junior standing is still waiting for a sgr/decision and he’s taking an important prerequisite right now, bus14b, business calculus.
So has anyone watched the Guardians of the Galaxy 2? It’s amazingly funny
@IwcWombat I like that we’re branching out in topics.
I saw it! I really liked it! It was def a welcome distraction from life.
Thankfully the NBA playoffs are taking place rn, only thing keeping me sane. My quarter ends June 26th…
Normally I would say that we shouldn’t digress from the thread. But at times like these, this is needed once in a while. Besides, most of our questions are answered anyways, it’s just a matter of time of when we hear back.
