2017 - 2018 USC Transfer

@Skepta Your answers to the “quick takes” won’t make or break your application. I promise.

Yikes, I got to the 05/30/16 mark on last year’s thread and it’s a nightmare :frowning: Hopefully it’s different this year.

Sophomore applicant, just received a SGR for the Marshall School of Business this morning, so its not too late for those at least. Regardless of the individual, does anyone have any idea how many SGRs receive acceptances vs. rejections vs. spring admits, roughly?

@Orlando1997 Congrats! How were you notified?

anyone heard back from viterbi?

Hey guys,

I applied to Marshall last year and was rejected - I didn’t find out until May 31st (portal). I also applied to Marshall this year and haven’t heard anything yet, but I am expecting a SGR. If anyone has any questions on why I was rejected last year so they can chance themselves, feel free to ask!

For those wondering the timeline of MyUSPS, the Acceptance Package was dropped off at the Los Angeles USPS facility at 8 PM. I got the package the next day at 1 PM. I live near LA

Hey Guys,

Long time lurker. Just wanted to say that I’ve been looking around at previous discussions, and from what I’ve seen acceptances have been sent out throughtout the month of May (including Marshall). Some even as late as the last couple of days of May, so don’t get discouraged yet. I myself am also waiting on Marshall. Got a SGR March 31st, and sent them my grades this past Wed. So we’ll see…trying to not stress myself out.

Also, I called them on Wed and I was told that they are rolling, so whoever said that Marshall is almost done admitting people…this really isn’t true.

@IwcWombat did you get your usps notification last night when they dropped it off or this morning when I assume it was scanned?

I sent in my housing application yesterday and was just told that decisions for housing will be made early June. To anyone else that has been accepted, what do you plan on doing? I would really prefer to live on campus for the first year since I’m coming from across the country, and I feel as though I’ll have a decent shot at on campus housing because of the early decision, but I also don’t want to be left with nothing lol. Pretty sure I’d go with the lorenzo if I can’t get on campus housing, which should still be available come mid-late June, but I really don’t want to risk it.

Me: Stay hopeful everyone!
Also me: So I totally know that I got rejected, already planning the funeral for my USC hopes and dreams already.

Any Marshall admits or applicants that are looking to take the series 63, 65, or 7 exams?

Has anyone ever successfully appealed before?

@dvalenc7 I have no clue what you’re talking about… lmao is that a bad thing?

@penntousc I don’t expect many undergraduates to be preparing or even know what a uniform investment adviser law examination is lmao. It was worth a shot asking. There is one Marshall student that passed this before they even graduated (that I know of) which is pretty big accomplishment. What career path are you looking to go with an undergraduate degree from Marshall? My high school friend who graduated today from SC is pursuing investment banking and is already working for Merrill Lynch. I want to pursue corporate finance.

accepted to dorsnife for biological sciences with package

@dvalenc7 Ideally it’d be entrepreneurship, but if I can’t find a good startup or start something up myself, I’d like to get into an industry such as sports (football, NFL organization would be sick), the tech industry, entertainment industry, or music industry. I’m going to look into investment banking as well but I’m more interested in the management/marketing side of business. Definitely want to be well versed in everything, but I’d really hate to be put in a cubicle and that’s really the only thing I won’t do lol

@penntousc @dvalenc7 have you guys received your financial aid yet? If so, how long after you got your acceptance? Im excited about getting into marshall but can’t get too excited cause its just so damn expensive

@BusinessBrah I was accepted last thursday but turned in a document on Monday, havent received it yet… they told a lot of people that aid will be sent out next week
