2017 - 2018 USC Transfer

@dvalenc7 I have been offered to take those classes actually. I haven’t yet, but intend to.

Edit: idk why I called them classes haha I meant I have been offered to earn those licenses. If I take a job at Merrill Lynch, which i’ve currently been offered, I will have to get them.

@uscdream19 do you mind sending some of the exact words from that second paragraph? i have something somewhat similar to that but i thought it was sent to everyone who applied

do you guys think they’re still gonna give out SGRs for dornsife? and would the past few days be considered a “wave”? since a handful people on this thread got into dornsife.

@Skepta Probably. According to previous years’ threads, rejections came out in the last week of May, so I think all of us who didn’t get anything yet still have time left.

did anyone here apply to School of Cinematic Arts? film production

@BusinessBrah SC’s financial aid is pretty lousy now compared to ten years ago. Most people end up paying 30-40K a year in loans-- so you can expect at least 15-25 in aid.

@hchung0719 Exactly right. USC doesn’t give much aid to transfer students like they used to. A lot of people accepted who don’t want to take out giant loans withdraw because of the meager aid. This is also why a decent amount of Marshall/Dornsife applicants get accepted around last week of May/early June.

@uclatft a friend of mine who transferred into SCA last year, received his acceptance on May 25th.

.

what are you guys all doing about housing? so I didn’t know, but the villages are ALL filled up. So upset because I really wanted to live there! I put 5/6 choices as the village LOL…I don’t know if I should change it because of the slim chance that someone decides to move out and I get that spot! Hahaha. Anyone know how likely it is to even get on-campus housing though? I don’t know if I should just completely avoid it and start looking for off-campus apartments D;

Did anybody have family/siblings/etc. graduating from USC this year? I had a pretty good time, but I went all out and went to three graduation ceremonies, lol (ethnic ceremony, main commencement, my department’s ceremony). I was totally more excited to see Helen Mirren than I was to see Will Ferrell, haha. Maybe because I’m old :stuck_out_tongue:

@zettasyntax From one “old” person to another: I feel like we’d get along.

How long does it take for the portal to update? Mine still looks the same from before I got accepted :stuck_out_tongue:

@caligrrl congrats and welcome to the Trojan family! It will take anywhere from 1-3 days to update based on other admits and my experience.

@dvalenc7 thanks! Do you know what your friends stats were for SCA?

@eden97 you wont get it. look for off campus housing

If there’s no more housing available I’m finna bounce on SC. For those who make a decision in which they’re made to decline or are not accepted, remember IT’S OKAY! Any college will give you a great experience, it’s all on YOU! The power is in YOUR HANDS. If you get bad news, take a day and mourn the loss of an opportunity and look forward to the new opportunities YOU HAVE. They may not be the ones you wanted, BUT you have others available to you. Be THANKFUL, and remember to be HOPEFUL. Years down the road, the college you go to will be just that. THE COLLEGE YOU WENT TO.

Hey guys, can someone chance me? Transferring from a State University in the North East division. I had a 3.53 last semester and USC has asked for my spring grades. I am not sure if my spring grades are good. I have 3 As 1 A- and a C( first year seminar) this semester. I can justify the C because the professor decided not to follow by the syllabus (he only gave us 3 exams and skipped one without notifying us). What do you guys think about my chances on being admitted? I want to major In political Science and International Relations. Thank you guys!! Go Trojans!

International Relations, junior applicant. Still nothing!

@Monekyboy961 I don’t think anyone can give you any idea what your chances are. They can just give you their opinion and it doesn’t really mean much. I am not trying to be rude but no one can answer that question for you. if your stats are in line with what USC usually accepts, then you have a shot. We all hope you get in.
