2017 - 2018 USC Transfer

@mellyjune yeah haha no prob! I didn’t think you meant anything by that, but I still wanted to clarify. And thanks once again, hopefully you hear back soon as well as everyone who’s been patient up to this point. Y’all deserve it.

@itslife123 someone already called and they were told that this upcoming week we should hear something. I would go ahead and SIR to a school already, but that $250 tho… ugh.

@rawrrxboo it can’t hurt to do both!

so I was browsing through the members of USC 2017 transfer admits fb group and May10th was definitely a wave, almost half the members joined that day. Idk how this is helpful but just a pattern I found lol.

@Skepta Ha… what am I doing wrong…

Dear Viterbi,
just give me my rejection letter already, for God’s sake!

lol the USC transfer admissions is a another level of evil. Atleast with other colleges ALL decisions (freshman and transfer) are sent out the same day, so its just anticipation of that ONE day. Sure, one might be anxious about that day arriving but until it comes, the wait is no different than it was say it was a month or 3 months before. With USC transfers, its weeks or almost a month of torture. From around may 1st and on, your’ constantly checking the portal, mailbox, this thread, hoping for a decision as constant stress and thoughts of rejection take over. Instead of waiting for one day, the the pain drags on for so much longer. lol just needed to say that.

@mellyjune We’re literally like the same person omg I’ve been thinking the same things as you said LOL

I just wish there was more of a pattern or schedule to the admission decisions rather than “It’ll come out between April and June”, not to mention waiting even longer for people who got SGRs

@Skepta Sophomores can still get accepted immediately! If you think about it, sophomores pay more overall because they’ll be at USC for 3 years, so in terms of finance it’ll be better for USC? At least that’s what my school counselor told me LOL

@Shuisazn that’s actually really good to hear especially that a counselor said that, also il be done with major reqs and 6 GEs even though I’m an incoming sophomore, so hopefully they don’t see a reason to reject me. However I am taking an important req this spring quarter which is buisness calc which they may want to see.

Accepted to Marshall for Business Administration! Just got my mail today!

This is finally the end of the nightmares I’ve been having for the past two weeks; I’ve honestly been that worried.

(I already posted in the Stats forum, and I’ll try and stay around and watch this thread.)

@Skepta remember I was accepted with only 16 units completed and no AP/IB units or anything like that, so anything can happen. You have good stats though and IMO I think you’ll be looking at an SGR worst case scenario. Good luck and try to stay patient!

@Skepta @mellyjune the facebook group can be deceiving, I’ve posted in there asking what sophomores are doing for housing (whether they’re even going to bother applying for on campus) and no one has responded, and some other people have posted as well but hardly anybody comments on anything. I’m pretty sure there are a bunch of current students in that group because there’s been a good amount of current students posting saying that they’re looking for some roommates and such, or posting requesting that someone take their lease, so I’m not even sure how many of the group members are transferring in this year.

@penntousc thanks man I needed to hear that, lol the wait was getting to me.

@Skepta I think one of the reasons I heard back so early was because my counselor (due to the regions she’s responsible for) didn’t receive/need to review as many apps as other counselors, so your time will come at some point.

@lanterngirl congratulations and welcome to the Trojan family!

@penntousc I believe I remember reading your Fb post. Maybe try the housing page for USC

What’s the main difference between off-campus and on-campus housing? Is off-campus farther away/more dangerous or are they about the same? :o

@Shuisazn Off campus housing is where you live somehere off campus and you do it all yourself. They don’t help you. It is the same question as “are you going to live in our dorms or find your own housing somewhere else.”

@dvalenc7 how do I get to that? Didn’t even know there was anything else more than then fb page lol

So is it true that more seats in classes will open up for transfers? Theres like nothing available in Writing 340 for business majors lol

@Shuisazn the off campus apartments complexes around USC aren’t in bad areas, and they’re all pretty nice. I would definitely start looking into them if I were you because on campus housing isn’t looking to likely as of right now. I believe they actually had more spots last year, and one of the transfers that was accepted in April didn’t receive housing until June 20th, and he didn’t even get his first choice.

@OCCtoUSC I’m curious about this too. I hope there is a system like this in place. I hear your 1st semester enrollement is not that great, but after it gets better.
