2017 - 2018 USC Transfer

@ADADAD05 everything is around 1k/month per bed, with some sort of cover charge

@ADADAD05 it’s a bit more cheaper near USC, but Westwood is a far nicer and safer area with more things to do.

@jonathaanv I’d consider other options if you can. I wish I would have chosen Santa Barbara or Berkeley. I’m at Marshall and this past year was brutal for me. There were times where I felt that I wasn’t even getting my money’s worth. A few professors couldn’t care less and they just stick you into groups to avoid teaching you the material. Definitely not worth the ridiculous money you pay to be educated by these hacks.

@jdfinancialsec I’ll personal message you for more information. I appreciate the advice.

@ADADAD05 might be a bit cheaper at USC but USC is basically located in the ghettos.

Hi guys! I am new to this thread. I am an international student and have some questions about the transfer process since I am not familiar with it that much. I am from Turkey and took leave of absence for two semesters because I moved to the US. I applied to USC for fall 2017 to transfer (Computer Science & Engineering) and right now, I am taking some courses from Santa Monica College like English 1 & 2 and Physics 21. My question: does USC accept courses from Summer 2017 semester? I just realized that I think I needed to take Physics 8 instead of Physics 21 and I am worried right now.

@bbzby Yes they accept credit for physics 8 in the summer, but this may create a problem for admissions because usc doesnt accept Summer 2017 courses as part of admissions. You might have a shot at admissions, but you’re put at a disadavantage from other applicants.

@bbzby I applied for the same major!
They don’t take 17 Summer class into consideration for your admission decision but if you get admitted, those courses can still be transferred to USC.

@malpais Are you excited for the upcoming weeks!?!?!

@itslife123 @malpais thank you for the replies! Sorry to hear that it is too late for admission decision. Good to know that you applied for the same major too! I took physics 21 for UCs but got rejected from them. Now USC is my only hope and I get more nervous every day. I think they will release my admission decision in july because they requested my spring grades and grades will be available in June

@bbzby Did you really get SGR’ed?!?!?

@itslife123 yeah. why?

@bbzby Because no one from Viterbi got anything yet! And you’re the first one. @malpais Sign of good things to come? :’)

My final exam week starts tomorrow… I need to keep calm LOL

@itslife123 Wow really??!! Didn’t know that. So it’s a good sign, right?

@bbzby Just do well, and you should be able to get in. Good luck! #SMCproud #fighton

I am transferring from a CSU and I got rejected by all the UCs I applied to. Well…I knew they gave the least priority to CSU applicants but I didn’t expect to be rejected by all of them with a 3.9 GPA . USC is also my only hope.

@itslife123 thank you! Good luck to you too guys  @malpais

@bbzby Are you soph or junior?

do transfer students have to take placement tests?
