@Mikeysky96 I applied to the animation program. it would be nice to hear back by this week but I have a feeling they’re going to drag it out as long as they can…
I applied for sca too for MAP, I think if we hear anything its likely its next week looking at the past threads trends. But you never know. Hopefully all small handful of sca applicants get in!
Hey fam, I applied to the School of Dramatic Arts and got a SGR on May 10th. On the portal it says I should receive instructions in the mail about the different ways I could submit my grades, but I haven’t gotten anything yet. Does anyone have those instructions?
@penntousc I think it depends on what area, generally speaking USC is in the hood. However, the only side I would stay away from as someone out of state is the area ?north? of the stadium. People drinking 40’s on their porch at 11pm is a bad sign for a bad time lol. BTW be careful with the “Lorenzo”, Ive heard many horror stories from that place. Just look it up on yelp and read down. Just giving you a heads up since I’ve done extensive research on where I would live and drove through there a few times.
The long wait is starting to become mentally draining for me. Too much uncertainty hahaha
@bugajskj yes I would most definitely consider where the stadium is the be a bad area, but I don’t think there’s any reason to be going down there, and most of the housing is in a safe area. I’ll definitely look stuff up about the Lorenzo, I haven’t heard anything bad about it but it does worry me a little that it offers so much yet only costs $994/bed lol. Hopefully I’ll get on campus housing though and I wouldn’t have to worry about setting up an apartment and lease and such.
I’m a Junior applicant that applied to Dornsife and I still haven’t heard anything. This wait is mentally and physically draining.
What’s the deal with the spring term grade requests? Is this the equivalent to being deferred? Also, any info on how the office of admissions weighs the GPAs from the schools from which we’re transferring?
@runstradamus if they request your spring grades, it’s because they want to see your spring grades to see if you’ve made any additional progress towards fulfilling major or GE requirements, before making a decision on your application. It’s exactly what it sounds like, usually just means that you haven’t completed enough required courses or courses in general to be given an immediate decision.
Hi @katienewsom24 …You’re the first person I’ve seen from SDA receive anything, so that’s exciting! My daughter applied to SDA and has not heard a word back. Are you a sophomore? Or junior? Or TPP?
@lelmemes Yup I’ll be a junior next year. Hbu? Also are you planning to do a game design major at USC?
Was just rejected from NYU… was only my 2nd or 3rd choice but I’m hoping this isn’t a bad omen of what’s to come.
Prospective sophomore transfer for Viterbi. Got a request for spring grades through portal
VITERBI STARTING OMG!
@aj0927 What classes are you taking your spring semester?
Good luck to all the Viterbi applicants on here! Can’t imagine having had to wait this long for any action at all lol
3 GE’s and Calc 2
@penntousc I’m not even Viterbi or Annenburg and I haven’t heard a peep… I’m a junior applicant so I thought I would’ve heard something by now so I’m sort of expecting the worst… but I’m still keeping up hope until the end of this week at least…
@skysmom I’m a sophomore! I’m not on the TTP, sadly.
I know im getting ahead of myself, but is the financial aid amount really as dry as some people make it out to be? I heard that if parents salary is 6 figures, you get little to no aid, is this true?
edit: lol i totally forgot about the net price calculator USC provides, I now have a estimate. Thanks @itslife123 for reminding me.
