2017 - 2018 USC Transfer

Are any other admitted students still waiting for their financial aid summary?

@Skepta I’m sure you tried the calculator but it should be close to that range. Do like a $5000-$8000 margin or error. And that should be a safe estimate.

So does anyone know how admissions work for specific departments? I know there are admission counselors for specific regions, but does each department have their own group of admission counselors that review applications after the regional ones do so?

Crossing my fingers for the Viterbi applicants in this thread <3 Hopefully by this Friday we start getting good news!

Prospective Viterbi sophomore applicant, got a request for Spring grades today!

@katienewsom24 my daughter is a sophomore as well. She is transferring from a ccc…Post when you get in! Good luck!

@mellyjune what major are you? So many people on here it’s hard to keep up lol

@BMan22 Let’s keep hope! It doesn’t look like many people applied for Sociology this semester

Will annenberg applicants start to hear around the same time as Viterbi?

@UCtoUSC Viterbi and Annenberg are completely different schools and have no correlation together. But since there’s only like 15 days before May 31st anyways. I guess you can say Viterbi will hear around the same time as Annenberg

@smh101 Do you well your Spring Semester and you should have no problem getting in.Congratz! You’re almost there

lmao I just did net price calculator for other top colleges, Harvard, Princeton, Brown, Stanford. For all those colleges my tuition wouldnt be more than 30k/year, however when entered the same info for the USC calculator the tuition amounts to $49,500/year. Considering USC’s endowment is up there with those colleges (and even more than Brown), their not exactly generous with aid :/, hopefully the actual financial aid amount is more if im admitted.

@Skepta I think it’s because they give practically full rides to those with a 0 EFC, or maybe their just that stingy lol

@penntousc while tuition is pretty high, from all the people I know who attend USC plus those who have graduated (5 people in total), iv heard the return on investment makes it super worth it. You may remember the example I gave of my friend who is currently a summer index fund analyst at goldman sachs, so def once graduated it is common to earn $90k+ starting salary. Sigh this makes it even more enticing for me to just accept the large student debt, since paying it off wont take too long. Two of my friends who graduated last week had jobs lined up start of second semester at morgan stanley, so If i do get in, im banking on the trojan network to hook it up fat LOL.

My mom keeps telling me to call the admissions office and ask about decisions especially since my application had technical difficulties but like what am I going ask them… I feel like it’s going to sound like I feel entitled to a decision and is only going to annoy them.
She’s stressed out too since I haven’t heard anything back but I’m super stressed and she’s just stressing me out even more. I’m not against calling cuz it gives me something to do but aren’t they just going to tell me the generic answer that devious or SGRs will be released May may 31st

@mellyjune lol the trick with that is to call the undergrad registars office, they have the same info as the counselors in terms of progress but they dont make the decisions.

So are the people who are getting decisions checking them by mail or portal? Are they being released like any day (Monday, Tuesday, etc)?

@Skepta Yeah the return investment is definitely worth it, better to start out with an amazing job making great money and take a little longer to pay off loans, than to start off at a shitty job with little loans to pay off… take a whole lot longer to work up to that point, might as well just go to USC and start there!

Hey sorry if this has been asked before – I just got my second semester final grades and I got an SGR. Is it okay if I just send a screenshot of my unofficial transcript online through the portal?

So I guess today is SGR day for Viterbi Sophomores. Perhaps acceptances packages in the next few days?!

Viterbi SGRs are rollin out, I see. Oh god, now I’ll have to try to resist the urge to check my portal 2x harder.
