I’m in the process of appealing my financial aid package. My household doesn’t make anything close to six figures, but I barely got anything (read: zero grant dollars!) since I already have a bachelor’s degree. If USC denies my appeal, I may need to withdraw my enrollment.
A word to the wise: please don’t squander your undergraduate years. I did, and it’s closed so many doors.
@Amaryllis85 hopefully you get what you need!
@jonathaanv my back ups are UC Berk and UCSD i got rejected from LA I think I would pick SD over berkeley i visited the campus and met with students its really not the place for me
@renkim357 Lorenzo is a very popular apartment some people complain about some fees but for the price you’re not going to be beating it anytime soon and plus its fully furnished
otherwise those on campus apartments are another choice but many of the good rooms will be taken by incumbent students
Here we go again. I’ve seen these kind of people, and it never ends well.
@penntousc ohhh I see what’s going on…someone is butthurt your financial aid came in strong.
@pantafootball2 I guess so, but that’s how it is for all low income students, not just me. I’m definitely not bragging about it and I’m insanely grateful, because schools in my own state would have been more expensive, but I won’t apologize for being poor lol
Someone from my school got into USC yesterday! Now just waiting for any kind of decision I just want to KNOW
I’m pretty sure it was Dornsife, but I only heard about it in passing–they said it wasn’t Marshall. Psychology major I think?
For the record , I’ll be doing work study to cut 2500 off of what is left that I have to pay, so it’s not like I’ll be sitting around lol
Well, at the very least, the maturity of some is definitely being shown. I believe us to all be hard workers and nothing can or should take that away from us. Instead of judging and being rude, let’s all just work harder on ourselves. K?
@penntousc such respect. It’s not easy working and going to school full time. There’s a reason you got in so early
not gonna lie, so jealous of you hahahaha
My teacher gives me handouts all the time, I refuse them because who wants to do “handouts”.
Paying $1000 a month for some crap 5’ x 5’ space is not a handout lmao. I think this guys butt is feeling soar from his “part time job” and is taking it out on you @penntousc . (adds weeks to his college confidential prison sentence)
Tbh what kind of part-time job pays 72k a year? Sign me the eff up.
also side note that just because a lot of people work and go to school at the same time, doesn’t make it less remarkable and respectable
@bugajskj yeah I don’t see how, if I’m going to pay 1k/semester, asking for an apartment with no bugs (at least bed bugs and cockroaches), no mold, and a bed is too much lol. Honestly I’d stay in a dorm style (no kitchen, shared bathrooms) apartment if it meant that it was at least decently sanitized.
@penntousc All the schooling in the world can not instill common sense. There are people making money hand over fist off of students. This guy is someone you want to do business with in the future, he will gladly give over his money and work harder to give you more LOL
@bugajskj also I apologize for calling you pessimistic and rude the first time I mentioned you, lol not even comparable
@penntousc lol its cool man, I can be…overwhelming sometimes. Keeping it real can go wrong (Dave Chapelle)
I’m really starting to think I just had a friendly financial aid officer that flagged my account for my non-cus waiver to be processed out of pity.
edit; are they even called officers?
