2017 - 2018 USC Transfer

@renkim357 I’ve heard acceptances will change the whole portal(like the tabs and links will change), but I don’t know about rejections. I still haven’t received a decision ㅠㅠ

@renkim357 The portal does change after you’ve been accepted.

@renkim357 Rejection portals only have 2 options: check application status and submit new documents. Acceptance portals has more options - like to submit deposit, housing, financial aid, etc.

Oh okay thank you. Annenberg journalism rejected, i’m sorry to everyone else that’s dealing with that right now too. you’re all bright and talented and we all worked hard–we’re all going far regardless of whether or not USC accepted us.

Whoes staying up tonight to work on their appeal? Haha

@usc2563 go for it then but it’s largely useless and a waste of energy since they rarely if ever accept appeals to rejects.

is it normal to get something in the mail but the portal still not updated?

the appeal shouldn’t be more than a paragraph right? since its an email to the counselor.

@jdfinancialsec wow, tell me one more time, is it rare to get in via an appeal? you haven’t made your point explicitly clear numerous times and I’m super confused!

@juliamay2020 the portal updates a few days later.

Can the appeal letter be single spaced?

@jdfinancialsec wow!! you’re a sc transfer AND a dick! congrats

@ashurikko since there aren’t specific guidelines, it probably doesn’t matter. Just keep it about one page. I would say maybe 3/4 of the page if you do it single spaced.
Honestly, its the content that matters more than the length. As long as it is longer than two words and is shorter than a novel haha

@ashurikko I don’t think single or double spaced matters. As long as you have important information for them to read. but probably double spaced is better

@pomeranian4rich how long should the appeal be?

Hey guys, How does SGR work? I had 6 classes this semester and luckily got A’s in all of them. Does that mean that I should get in after I send them my transcript? thanks.

@Skepta (I know you didn’t ask me hahaha) but for first years, they explicitly say to keep it within one page so I assume the same for us.

@Skepta I’ve never written an appeal before but a page seems reasonable.

This guy got in freshman year from appealing. Some of you might find it helpful. https://www.youtube. com/watch?v=KI3x6FMWsPQ&t=7s

ik this appeal is a long shot, but its more for closure than anything (and acceptance ofc lol). It kinda tells you that you literally tried everything.

Because I’ve seen it done on these things and they’ve always ended up in failure. However, don’t give them a “heartfelt,” “pouring your heart out” plea because they don’t care since everyone does that anyway and it won’t change their minds. Just mention your straight A spring grades and new extra-curriculars and that’s all.
