just sent the appeal, may my counselor have mercy.
It’s not up to them. Your counselor just passes it on to the committee that rejected you. You better have straight A spring grades in challenging courses and new extra curriculars for a compelling appeal since it’s the only thing that matters.
@jdfinancialsec although my spring quarter is not over, I did mention the important major classes im taking spring quarter and that I would like to send them, since I do have As and expect to end that way.
@jdfinancialsec you having a bad day? lmao chill with the depressing info
If I’m being a jerk about it it’s because I don’t want anyone to be anxious until the end of July for an appeal that’s likely to be unsuccessful. Everyone on here has been on edge for the last two months and why put yourself through that again? It’s a waste of a good summer. Just up your grades and apply again or go somewhere else.
When do we have to submit the appeal by?
@jdfinancialsec I actually get where you are coming from and appreciate the honesty rather than sugarcoating it. I kinda needed to hear the whole “just move one and try again thing” but surely you can see how this would rub some in the wrong way. especially in this trying time of getting rejected…
I still haven’t received anything yet? Is there anyone else out there that haven’t heard back yet?
Application Status: REJECTED to Marshall… date = 05/25/17, but I haven’t received my physical letter yet.
Stats: 3.95 GPA, however I don’t think they took my spring grades into consideration … which is one of the things I’ll bring up in my appeal … both econ and accounting courses completed … all prereqs done … 3/4 GE’s done.
So to be honest, I was going to attend CSUN no matter what the decision was (already sent my intent to register about 2 months ago) I just want to redeem myself and get accepted to USC.
Main reason why I believe I was rejected is that in my middle two semesters (taken six in total) I was a part time student, however because I have been full time the past two semesters I don’t think that should matter …
Can’t see appeal under document list. Anyone know what to do to appeal?
@jae2017 email your admissions counselor!
Status: Also REJECTED from Marshall for Business Admin on 5/28 no letter
Stats: I had a 3.9 but my spring grades also weren’t taken into consideration. Before Spring I had a 3.85 because I’ve taken an overloaded course schedule (4 or 5 classes per quarter/semester my second year bc I was dual enrolled at two ccs). All requirements and GEs were done except for the cultural studies requirement. Econ and accounting done as well.
Extra curriculars were alright but not amazing
Probable reason for rejection: I had a 4.0 until I took Calculus part 1 and 2, in which I received a C+ and a C respectively. The only reason my gpa survived was because of the extra classes I took
Appeal: probably, but just because I want to go to school knowing I tried everything. Right now I’m taking a bunch of major related classes to get my associates before I transfer and I’m pretty sure I’ll get a 4.0. I finished 3 spring semester classes at one CC two weeks ago and I’ll be finishing four quarter classes at my other CC on June 27 (super late I know but their schedule is kind of wack)
Honestly, I posted my stats for a chance me on this thread earlier and another user (politely and honestly) told me I would probably get rejected because Marshalls is really quantitative and the Cs would be hard to overlook. I’m keeping my hopes down on the appeal for the sake of my ego, but USC was the school I built my schedules and overall CC life around. Feeling pretty low but I don’t want to wallow or anything like that lol
Good luck to anyone else appealing, congrats to anyone who got in or got SGRs, and to anyone else chilling on the rejection train I feel u so hard rn love u eat some cookies
@jae2017 last year I attached the appeal letter in an e-mail to my counselor because that’s what he said to do
@hchung0719 @oso766 thanks guys!
I’m so sorry to everyone else who got rejected. This is not the end for us. May we find better paths and schools where we belong.
any Viterbi rejections yet?
submitting my appeal by the end of today! Best of luck to everyone and congrats to everyone who got accepted! In the meantime I am going to send my SIR to UCSB (:
Rejected
Viterbi sophomore applicant
4.0 GPA from top 50 out of state engineering school. All recommended courses taken.
@skepta @ashurikko i have been following this thread for months and made an account to specifically address the two of you as I feel like I’ve rly gotten to know you during this time lol I too just received my rejection from annenberg and am heartbroken and I just wish you both successful appeals and if that doesn’t work I know you’ll both flourish in whatever you do. This goes for all of us who didn’t make it in. This isn’t the end just the beginning of a different story. Submitted my SIR to UCSD hopefully that’s just where I’m meant to be. Take care everyone!
@guitar0303571 did u receive a SGR?
