@uscdream19 I’ve helped plenty of people on here through PM. I’m blunt and tell it like it is. I don’t enjoy wasting people’s time with glossy platitudes. I attend USC unlike all of you who have this hyped of vision of what it is to actually attend this university.
@jdfinancialsec like what others have said—there is absolutely no reason to be despondent. Thousands of people in the present and future will read through these forums with hopes of being admitted one day, seek helpful information, etc. I understand that not all of them can be admitted, but they stand a greater chance of admittance when they are not discouraged and take their own risks. To have individuals like you discouraging them to give up in plight is ignoble. If you think so lowly of USC, why did you bother paying a substantial amount of money to this university?
@Skepta It was pretty cool! I’m honestly not super familiar with all of his work though. I’ve never seen Elf and he did make reference to that a few times. I think I’ve also mentioned how I was a lot more excited when Helen Mirren popped up out of nowhere Overall though, I really liked how Will mixed humor while eventually getting to the point that it’s okay not to have everything figured out yet and take risks. I also give him a lot of props for his guts to tackle Whitney Houston. And his facial expressions are just hilarious
If I went to two CCs, how do I know who my counselor is? It’s either Grier or Guevarra.
@jae2017 what CC did you go to last? Or did you attend 2 concurrently?
@jae2017 when I asked USC admissions, they wanted me to contact the regional counselor at my most recent educational institution. If you attended two simultaneously, either one should work. To be safe you can call the admissions office and verify that.
I attended SMC last but I had more units at PCC. I emailed Natalie instead of Grier because of Grier’s bad rep, haha.
Even though the rejection hit hard last night (sent an appeal but not going to expect anything from it), I feel a lot better today. I just want to say a huge congrats to everyone who did - and will - get accepted! I know a lot of you have worked your asses off for this, so congratulations to those whose hard work paid off. And to the others who have been rejected like myself: PLEASE DON’T GIVE UP ON YOURSELF OR YOUR DREAMS. An admissions decision from a singular university does not measure your worth as a human being. Just please remember that.
hey all, I’m a Dornsife applicant (Sociology) and my portal still looks normal. does anybody know what this means? I looked everywhere and I have no rejection letter. I’d like to think I survived the rejection wave. thanks.
Did anyone get any USC merit scholarship??? v curious
@jdfinancialsec for what it’s worth, you did previously say that you wish you had attended Berkeley, so I wouldn’t consider what we have to be a “hyped up vision”. I’d be more inclined to say that we might just be more likely to be a good fit at USC. Not to disrespect Berkeley’s academics because they’re phenomenal, but I can’t picture a USC student that is happy at USC, also being happy at Berkeley. The attitude and vibe of the student body and school is a polar opposite compared to what USC is. For myself, and I am dead serious: I could not be paid to attend Berkeley. You’re simply unhappy with what you’ve experienced at USC, and there’s nothing wrong with that. I can guarantee that you went in with a certain expectation of what is was going to be like, and you were let down. The problem that you’re bringing to this thread, is that you’re now spreading that negativity and disappointment from your personal let down, to everyone else on this thread, instead of sharing your experience in an unbiased manner and allowing those who have been accepted to enter USC with an open mind, and optimistic outlook. You have no clue who we are. You have no clue what we’re all interested in, or what we’re all expecting, or hoping to get out of USC. Like everyone else has said, if you’re going to lurk around and troll people because you had a bad experience at USC, then find something else to do. Otherwise, let everyone on here have their own experience.
When is the next wave of news? Next Saturday? I’m a sophomore Dornsife applicant with a SGR but I submitted my grades early this past Friday morning.
I’m a SCA applicant and just got a letter asking for my SGR… after they already asked me for my current unofficial transcript a month ago which I sent in. Did this happen to a lot of others as well? I have a 4.0gpa and will continue my 4.0 through the end of this semester, does that mean I have a real shot or just another consideration?
Currently Sgr… anyone else in my situation? Does this mean my application is not as interesting as the people who did get accepted?
Major:Business Administration Marshall
GPA:4.0
Completed USC transfer planning Guide
Spring: currently taking 1 course but completed 6.
Units taken: After spring, I will have 90 units.
Extracurriculars: Student worker in city government, advisor of Mesa,
Recommendations: 2 business professors and Government department director
Colleges Accepted: All the Ucs that I applied
Writing: I wrote about my career goal, specifically, investment banking. I also wrote about my familiy’s financial struggles during my childhood.
As for spring, I am just taking courses that are non transferable to USC. It is mainly for academic enrichment. My college grades are most likely going to be updated at the end of June. Decision will be at July. I currently sir to ucla for pre business economics. Decisions are so late, and I am wasting at least 1k for the fees if I do decide to attend USC. ( sir fees, housing contract, parking)
@dvalenc7 thank you! I’ve decided where my place should be in the next two years. Congrats to you also! May you have the best time in your next endeavors, and fight on :)>-
@zettasyntax thank you
I’m just super confused because I haven’t even received an SGR yet, and I’m considered a sophomore transfer. It’s rare to be directly accepted as a sophomore so I doubt that’s going to happen to me, and I have that one hiccup with grades at another place that will probably warrant an SGR…right now I’m just:

((@ USC I’m sorry I wouldn’t kick you in the butt but please))
@Shuisazn what are your stats and major?
Does anyone know when the next wave of news may be? I’m a sophomore Dornsife applicant with a SGR but I submitted my grades early this past Friday morning.
@nvz1997 I would guess the next wave is going to be on Tuesday, but I’m not sure you would get news then, because of your SGR.
