2017 - 2018 USC Transfer

just checked my status and got rejected on May 25h… Congrats those who got in!

Would anyone happen to have an idea on when I could expect to hear back from USC on an admission decision. I’m in a situation where I was SGR’ed and just dropped off my unofficial transcript at USC last Tuesday. My school takes a while to process official transcripts, so I thought it would be more benifital to give them a progress report signed by my professors and my schools records department while I wait. I’m a Dornsife applicant if that helps.

@greenpotatoe Nop. Not on your undergrad.

@itslife123 @tankle104 I called Admissions yesterday and they told me I just need to pass the class.

So for any of you that have decided to live off campus after getting your financial aid award, did you have to notify them that you will be living off campus? I’m pretty sure I’m living at the Lorenzo cause I found some roommates that already have an apartment there, but I just want to make sure I will be able to afford it cause I was hoping that my financial aid refund would pay for it. That’s what I was told by many people but I just want to clarify cause I can’t pay for rent without financial aid, and as we know, it’s almost impossible to get on campus housing

@eljefe79 I also sent mine last Tuesday, I emailed my counselor and they said we should hear back couple weeks after so for us probably Mid-June

@cassidylynnn do you know how much the financial aid refund usually is?

@penntousc well you’re refunded after they use the financial aid to pay for mandatory things like tuition and mandatory fees and then stuff like books. So after all of that is paid for, if you still have money left over, it is all refunded in the form of a check or directly to your bank account. For people that live off campus, they would definitely have a good chunk of financial aid left over so it would be refunded cause they don’t need a meal plan or on campus housing. I just am confused if we need to tell them that we are living off campus or if they just see that there is a surplus and refund us…

@trojans96 that’s a relief. I don’t think I’d be able to stand waiting until Mid-July.

@Warrior106 Good too hear. I knew that USC would definitely wouldn’t rescind you over a C. (And thanks for taking the initiative to call admission)

@cassidylynnn oh ok

@warrior106 that’s great news for you.

Are you already accepted? Or SGR?

I had a friend that was accepted (different university) and he for a C in an English class, the school actually pulled back their offer.

I’m glad it works for you.

do y’all think sending a rec letter right now would help my chances if i was SGR’d? or would it be more of a bother?

USC has a bunch of pride flags up! Pretty cool for the LGBT peeps.

So has everyone who has not gotten an SGR received their decisions?

@uscdream19 Nope. Still waiting.

@izrobins that’s interesting… you applied to Marshall correct?

Do any of you guys know how rushing and payment works? If it weren’t for the huge fees attached to being in a fraternity I would probably be interested, but I don’t see how it would make any sense/be worth it for me to take out an extra 3-4k/semester just to be in a frat… unless that’s the point lol, no low income students

@uscdream19 Correct. I don’t have a whole lot of hope. I guess I’ll find out in the next couple days, if not tonight.

I contacted the credit office in regards of my two accounting classes that require attention (Stated on TCR). They want me to physically visit the accounting department with syllabi in hand. From what I understood, they look at the course curriculum on syllabi and then make a decision on whether or not to give you credit.
