@izrobins I’m still waiting for an admission decision as well.
@izrobins don’t be!your stats are Definitely competitive. I Think if you’re not accepted for fall they’ll atleast give you spring admission. Stay hopeful it’s not over yet
@uscdream19 Thanks! I really appreciate that. This process is so mentally exhausting but positive people like you make things a bit more manageable.
@izrobins ofcourse. I’m pretty sure they’ve already reviewed your app by now. I would assume that they would have already rejected you in the last wave if they didn’t want you. So I would still remain pretty hopeful.
Does anyone think that decisions might be released tonight at midnight or tmrw during the day? Since it’ll be Friday I wonder if they would give good (or bad) news before the weekend…let me know your thoughts! Dorsnife incoming sophomore applicant here who received an SGR and I submitted my grades last week, but my counselor confirmed they had my physical transcript two days ago.
@izrobins @millaportman thanks guys!
@nvz1997 I hope so. I’m a Junior Dornsife applicant who hasn’t received anything at all.
@uscdream19 not me! Unfortunately, unless a package has arrived home that I’m not aware of, it seem a USC will keep me in the dark about their admission decision a while longer. Fingers crossed that’s a good sign? No rejection as of now, anyway…
I emailed two admissions counselors my appeal letter on Tuesday because when I applied this past fall I was at one school, but now I’m at a CC with a different counselor. I explained why I sent to it to both of them in the email. I also asked them if they could confirm that they received my letter and if any further information was needed (aka waiting for them to say send us your spring grades)…Neither has responded. Do you guys think I should email them again?
@transferk17 I would wait until next Monday. It really is a busy period for them and they might just be swamped. I don’t think they’d purposely ignore you.
@katienewsom24 were you accepted? do you go to a local southern california cc?
@penntousc I knew this communications major and he was basically the social chair or something and in charge of the 65K per semester budget that was to be used for the frat’s events…seems insane how much money they have, lol
@baseballlover21 I got a spring grade request a few weeks ago, but I haven’t gotten a final decision yet. I go to an out of state CC.
@penntousc As much as I want to join a frat, I think it’s alittle to costly. Plus I think since im a CS major I should be buckling down on my academics. Hopefully one day…
Hi guys I’ve been following this thread for the past few days and I’m in the dark as well with an admission decision. I signed up because I wanted to tell @penntousc that if you have the opportunity to rush then do it. It’s very beneficial and helps networking plus you have a lot more fun(if you like it) than you normally would if you weren’t in one. @itslife123 I’m also a CS major and managed to maintain a 3.8(Which probably is a little low for our major) while being in a fraternity and holding two chair positions. @zettasyntax Yes frats normally have funds and budgeting for a lot of things. Some frats even have regular dues that goes towards maintaining the lodge, philanthropy events, etc… and cash dues which is a separate fund for social events like concerts and parties.
@cnasty Ya maybe I might rush next year after I adjust to the rigor. But It’s good to hear that you’ve been able to handle both. Perhaps I need to time manage better this time around.
@cassidylynnn wait what is a financial aid refund?? I thought that USC strictly states somewhere online that university grants only cover flat costs like tuition??? or am i just not thinking right rn lol
@cnasty so you think that even though I’d have to take out more in loans to rush, it’d still be worth it? I think I’d definitely fit in with that environment, I just feel like I was real fortunate to get the aid that I did from USC so it seems like I’d be shooting myself in the foot for paying extra to join a frat lol
@zettasyntax lol yeah it’s crazy!
@penntousc If it’s one year why not.If you feel like you’re gonna be obligated to do 2 years I’d pull out. Cuz thats 16 k which is like alittle bit over full UCLA tuition. THe upside is you will be able to network alot easier.
