2017 - 2018 USC Transfer

@Vesper7 Yeah she’s pretty great. I emailed her a while back and got a response in 20 minutes. She answered my phone call before it even rang which actually kinda threw me off because I was still getting my application ID number ready.

I figure that I’m at the cusp of being accepted but they’re waiting to see how many people they’ve already admitted actually commit.

I think they are doing reviews right now because my portal says “None” under Required Documents and my status changed back to the original instead of “We have requested your spring grades…” Will we possibly hear back today?

@izrobins that’s what I’m thinking too since somebody said that admission decisions were going to be possibly rolling until June 2nd. I checked my portal and it still looks the same as the last 4 months lol.

@ngujo96 That’s strange… I wonder what’s up? In any case, good luck!

@nvz1997 most likely they are doing reviews as we speak. I hope we get sent something today.

How long does it take for them to get back to you on housing typically?

@Vesper7 Okay got it I thought so too, lol I really hope so, hoping for good news for all of us!

@itslife123 I called housing on Wednesday and asked about housing for transfers. The guy said some transfers were assigned housing but, as a whole, they hadn’t even started looking at transfer students specifically. He told me that we should know by the end of next week… we’ll see.

so if people that get SGR largely get accepted based on how many people commit at first, do juniors have a higher chance of acceptance than sophomores? Or is that not the case?

Does anybody know how housing for spring transfers work? I’m a little worried because there probably won’t be a lot of spaces for spring on campus; my friend has a place for $1400 a month (a single, right across from school and she said that’s super rare/the only building that’s like that for off campus housing) and I’m not sure if I should take her offer or wait for the school to get back to me (though i haven’t even submitted the housing app LOL). If anybody has any insight for spring transfer housing, pls reply or message me!

Also, my portal updated today!

@Shuisazn Are you a sophomore or junior applicant / did you get SGR’d / you heard back today that you got in?? If so, congrats!!

@MoriahDawn Thanks :slight_smile:

@abelghit theres no place to submit it on the portal for transfers, you just have to email your appeal letter to your regional admissions counselor! :slight_smile:

@nvz1997 By the time I get to USC, I’ll be junior status! Right now I’m just under 64 credits :slight_smile: I heard back a few days ago, actually; thank you so much!

@MoriahDawn Sounds about right. My financial aid took 1-2 weeks
@nvz1997 possibly. You should have already received a notification of some kind.

@nvz1997 I haven’t heard anything yet, either. I’m still on pins and needles ever since May 31st. If they’re gonna reject me, I wish they wouldn’t drag it out so much. My birthday is tomorrow and my fingers are crossed for good news .

Any tips on rushing guys?

mail arrived…no news from USC today :confused:

@dvalenc7 I didn’t get a notification, just my status changed back to normal instead of the one stating that they’ve requested my spring grades, and under required docs it states none since they have my spring grades now.

Anyone here already send there appeal? I’m sending mine tonight
