Has anyone else who’s appealed their decision had their you.sc portal change from admission status back to application status? I just logged on and noticed that today.
So how likely are you to get in if you do well in your classes after sending in your SGR? @scallaw2
@Shuisazn another option would be to just take the semester off, then you’d be graduating in the spring but you’d be a semester behind I guess
For those of you who got accepted: How long did it take for your TCR to show up on OASIS? My spring semester grades aren’t going to be posted until two more weeks but I still cannot see my other semesters up yet
Good luck to everyone on here that has yet to receive a decision or SGR! Due to the fact that Thursday was June 1st, and the portal takes 3 days to update, most (if not all) of the people that are left standing should see their decisions on the portal tonight between 12-2am.
Is USC generous with financial aid for the most part, or are they stingy about?
Hey,
May I know what are the amount of GEs I need to complete in my freshman year to transfer to USC as a sophomore transfer? I’m majoring in Biological sciences.
@ngujo96 I’ve heard that freshman receive better aid. The validity of that rumor is questionable. Some on here have mentioned that a decade/few years ago, the aid was much better than what it is now. Personally, I did not receive a single penny in financial aid (upper middle class family). Don’t let that discourage you, your experience may be completely different.
@Warrior106 my TCR took about 4 weeks. On the website they estimate it to be between 3-6 weeks.
@Aishxr I’d recommend trying to do at least 4, but do as many as you can handle. Keep in mind that classes like Western Civilization, International Relations, and Gender Studies (there’s some other ones as well, check the transfer planning worksheet) knock out two GE course requirements.
@Aishxr Also, I’m assuming you’re required to complete a math course and some sort of life sciences course (with a lab) for your major, so there’s two right there.
@Warrior106 I got my tcr only 2 weeks after I was notified of my admission.
@penntousc It’ll be an busy 2 years LOL
It says “Password not able to be sent” or something like that; it’s supposed to send to my email iirc but idk why it’s not
@greenpotatoe not every freshman does but USC said that most will. A very high amount of credits or GPA could influence this
@WinNer12 Doing well optimizes your chances of getting in (because naturally you are a better applicant). There is no guarantee as they look at numerous factors. In someways it is good…they do want to see your grades!
I got accepted May 24, should my financial aid already be updated?
is anyone willing to post their family income and how much aid they received? i find it appalling that i didn’t get a single penny even after sending in an appeal.
@penntousc Im a sophomore applicant, but you think it’s possible that I may receive a decision tonight between 12-2am? I was SGR’d on May 4th and my counselor confirmed a week ago they have all my transcripts / documents and my portal changed back to regular status. Thank you for your help!
Hey, is there anyone who got an SGR that hasn’t provided spring grades yet? And will it affect our decision if we wait to long to submit them?
@masonn8 I haven’t been able to submit my grades yet. I won’t get them until Monday (June 5th), I am going to send them asap when they are posted.
I’m a junior transfer that had an SGR. I just got my spring grades back and got a 4.0 Can I still be rejected?
