I read that some people dropped off their spring grade transcripts at USC. Does anyone know where I could go to drop mine off?
@squirtlesquirtle yeah it’s gotta count, you wouldn’t have been admitted to Marshall if they didn’t count it because the calc requirement is an absolute necessity
@penntousc Thanks for your feedback! I was worried that I would have to retake a class I took over a year ago…literally forgot everything. Only classes I am 100% dedicated to are upperdiv business classes.
@penntousc Well, during my orientation I went on a tour with only one other person, lol. We both had majors in Dornsife, so the tour guide tried to tailor the experience to our school/majors. It was a fast tour. Maybe 5-7 minutes? Not sure if it’s the same for summer orientation, but I’d recommend a full tour if you’re going to be the area anyway The tours happened before a presentation in Bovard, so I feel like they had to rush the tour.
@zettasyntax yeah I think that’s how ours is set up, pretty sure it says the tour is 10 minutes although I’m not sure how you can really get very far in only 10 minutes, but I’m definitely thinking about scheduling a full tour. Thanks!
@Alpinyo yup it wouldn’t hurt to!
@oso766 I saw mine after a day or two but I emailed my counselor before I did, and she replied quite fast.
@jae2017 thank you! my counselor had been e-mailing me before as well, but she never responded to the appeal … maybe I’ll confirm that she received it tomorrow
@Vesper7 yes… I keep checking my portal throughout the day but it looks the same way it has for the past four months and wow! I guess Rakin must be very busy if both of us are still in the dark about our admission … at least I feel a bit less concerned since I’m not the only one who hasn’t received news …
I actually checked my grades through the old SIS system today and they’re up, so I was considering ordering emergency transcripts at ELAC and going straight to USC on mon/tues. If I’m not in, that’s fine. If I’m SGR’d, I’ll have my transcripts on hand, and if I’m accepted, well, they’ll want my spring transcripts anyway, I’m sure. Wish they’d end the agony now, though
@masonn8 I haven’t provided my spring grades either because it won’t be on my transcript till like next week I believe. I did email my counselor and she said that it won’t be too late to send it by then, as long as we send it before June 30th. I don’t think our decision will be affected the longer we wait, as long as you do it before the end of the month
I have a bad feeling a lot of us are going to have to wait until early July for a decision…This sucks
Just a quick question. So I scored a 5 on one of my foreign language AP exams but the score isn’t shown on my transcripts because the class wasn’t offered at the cc I went to. I self reported it on my application and sent my scores before my application was reviewed, but I didn’t know if my AP scores made it because there isn’t an option for it on portal. Would that be something I could include in my appeal or would that not even make a difference?
@mersyno1 yeah likewise, he must be swamped with admissions as his territory is pretty big. honestly, I was thinking about doing the same thing and asking the people who work in the office of admissions if they can leave him a message or something. I have one grade, but still have 2 finals tomorrow. when I called, it said he hadn’t even reviewed my application yet lol. you might want to call and inquire about your status too. at this point it’s USC or bust for me.
how long does it take for a decision to be made after you send in your spring grades?
@Vesper7 Rakin hadn’t reviewed your application?? Wow… the latest I’ve heard someone hear back is june 6 (after scouring this thread, I believe someone mentioned it), if they go past that date I will make an in person visit to USC. It’s been 4 days since their promised deadline date… I was checking my mailbox today even though it’s sunday :(( my parents assume that they’ve already let know the students they want for sure, and the ones that they definitely don’t want, and are working on the applications that are a little harder to decide on right now…
As of now neither of us are rejected… I keep hoping that’s a good sign, at least.
when do SGR’s get notified?
@mersyno1 from what the admission staff told me, he hasn’t. yeah, I was thinking about doing that as well. mhmm, that’s a good possibility. I just think there were a lot of applicants this year for some reason because if you look at this thread vs last years, it’s a lot larger. definitely, I’m thinking that as well, I hope they give us the benefit of the doubt since its past the deadline.
@area21 do you think you filled out the CSS profile or FAFSA wrong? Or did you just submit those late? (not to sound superior but) My family income is higher than yours and we got about $38k in grants and $13.5k in work study and loans… i would consider appealing because even before my appeal, i got a better financial aid package than you
Hypothetical scenario:
You are a transfer student and have completed 3/6 GE’s with 2 additional GE’s only offered at USC. Upon admission, does this mean the remaining 3 GE’s that you did not complete, you will have to take at USC in addition to the 2 GE’s that USC requires?
Might be a very straight forward question/answer but I want to make sure…
@squirtlesquirtle yeah, whichever GEs you didn’t take prior to transferring, you’ll need to take at USC.
