any successful transfer applicants here that got accepted as a Pre-Law emphasis? I’d like to know your guys’ major choices and stats please! thanks!
Hi everyone. USC rejected me so I’m going to attend Boston University. I’ll probably apply to USC again for my masters degree. Anyway bye best of luck to everyone else who is still waiting on a decision!
GUYS… so my fin aid said in review for the past months and tonight it changed to 9 docs required, is this a good or bad sign? Do you think they’ve made my final decision if they are requesting this many docs? I’m an incoming sophomore applicant. (P.S. I am working with my parents to get the docs uploaded, will I not hear of a decision until they are uploaded?)
@nvz1997 I had the same question! I just got a notification from financial aid for request of more documents. Does this mean something? Maybe I’m just looking too much into it.
@hustlemuscle But I know that Fin Aid isn’t a factor for being admitted, but why would they request all of this info if they were going to reject us? Idk I might be overthinking it haha but anyone who’s been through this or knows please chime in!
@usctransferivc Did USC Fin Aid request for a bunch of documents to be uploaded before rejecting you or never finished your fin aid package/ask for more docs?
@elokinikole14 Do you think it’s a good sign they are requesting several docs from us or our admission decisions are totally separate? My thought is just why would they ask for so many docs if we were to be rejected. Any insight helps haha I just started freaking out when I saw 9 required docs and the change in status from in review to the explanation point sign.
@elokinikole14 It takes time for the financial aid office to verify the submissions. So it isn’t a matter of just uploading them, it’s about when human eyes get to glance over it to make sure that it’s correct/authentic/etc.
I’d put my money on those requested docs being a sign of acceptance, just my opinion
@tankle104 I am totally okay with taking out loans and I do agree it is an investment but since I know I definitely want to attend USC Physician assistant program (which is almost 150k) I have to be careful on how much I can borrow. Whereas if I go to UCSB I would graduate debt free and would be able to focus on just my classes without worrying about paying tuition.
I am still going to appeal though just to see if I can get just a little bit more FA
@penntousc will I hear of a decision before I submit them or not until then? My stats are on the lower side (3.53 GPA) so I’m not trying to get my hopes up but at the same time I’m asking myself why would they request those docs because they didn’t when I got rejected as a senior in hs, they took the three basic docs and that was it. Thank you for the feedback!
@amartinez571 Absolutely! Never hurts to ask.
make sure you give the best reason you can and the truth. Straight up tell them that if you don’t get more, you wont be able to attend.
@nvz1997 yeah it’s important not to get too hopeful until you receive your decision, but quite a few other people were requested of a bunch of new financial aid docs back in early May, and they were all accepted so I’m pretty sure you’re good… don’t know for sure when your decision would come though, probably this week if they’re asking for stuff, I’d be surprised if it was next week. Fingers crossed, good luck!
@nvz1997 yes as @penntousc just said don’t get your hopes up too high but there might be a chance it’s a sign of acceptance. I got multiple new documents to upload at the end of April but didn’t get my admission till mid may. However there are people in past threads who have gotten a request for more documents but were eventually rejected admission. I heard there’s specific documents that might hint your admission. Good luck!
i called admissions today and i was told that a decision has been made…when should my portal be updated? will the portal come first or will the mail… i live in orange country btw
@uscdream19 do you know of the specific documents that hint at an admission decision? Thank you again guys, your feedback is greatly appreciated!
@nvz1997 I mean, the night before my USPS package delivery, I got requested finaid documents, including my parent’s Tax Report to be scanned to them.
@srubien you’ll get a myUSPS notification first :))
@IwcWombat that is one of the docs they requested! There’s like 9 total haha
@nvz1997 I honestly don’t know how I should look at this cause there have been cases where people still got rejected even though they got requested more documents. But i agree, it doesn’t really makes sense why they would ask so many documents lol I received an SGR and i still havent sent in my grades yet they requested a few documents
@elokinikole14 Exactly, but USC verified they had my spring grades last week and today I got the update of several documents requested from fin aid, but no one can be sure, just have to go off of patterns from other applicants.
