2017 - 2018 USC Transfer

@mersyno1 oh for sure, thanks! I’m a Dornsife applicant as well. I’m going to try to go tomorrow and see what they tell me. do you have the myusps thing that everybody on this forum has?

@zettasyntax haha, thank you very much, I appreciate the support! hopefully this is the beginning of something great for me.

@Vesper7 unfortunately, no… is it some sort of website to know if any packages are coming your way? I only know about a usps link I pulled off of an older USC thread that lets you plug in the zip code of where the package is coming from to where it is arriving, and provides a rough estimate of when it should arrive at your home (for example, I put in that a package -if USC sent me a priority mail package- was sent yesterday, and it said I should receive it by tomorrow at noon or so). Probably not myUSPS but it’s all I have right now.

Also, I’ve heard of people learning from the admissions office that they were accepted, someone in an old thread said they may have rejected you if they won’t tell you USC’s decision, but I don’t know for sure… it gives me a bad feeling, but I’ll be patient . If I don’t receive a package by tomorrow, though, then it’s pretty likely I was rejected :-<

any Viterbi applicants still waiting after sending spring grades?

@user98 I’m pre-law! Junior transfer, English major from a large OOS public university. 4.0, was just accepted for Spring semester.

@nvz1997 yeah they requested about 6 docs if I remember corectely. There was an income and expense declaration sheet, tax return for both parents, myself and a couple others I do not recall off the top of my head

@mjstewart1224 congrats! you are actually one of the first ppl ik to get into pre law with english as the main major! did you talk about law-related stuff in your short answers/essay? thanks!

@uscdream19 hmm I had to fill those papers out a while ago. Then I was SGR’d, today my final grades get put on my transcript. Looks like I’m going to get 3 As and 2 A-. I took 18 units and worked full time. Hopefully they respect that.

There is also a chance my teachers curved the final grade. So maybe I got another A or two. Hopefully! Haha

@uscdream19 okay yeah it sounds like I have the same requested documents, I called Fin Aid but the guy said he didn’t know if a decision was made or not just that they requested more docs. I’m an incoming sophomore applicant and I got SGR’d (they now have my grades and verified they received them) so my situation may be different, but I’ll be sending them my docs tonight.

hey guys! so i got a request for spring grades and I’m a sophomore transfer majoring in Business Administration. the major requirements are Accounting, English 2, and Calc. Unfortunately, I got a C in Calc but I got an A in both Accounting and English 2. Do you think I would get declined?? My overall gpa (with the C) is a 3.8 please let me know!!!

@user98 I talked about law a bit in my main essay, and my dream job was solicitor general, so it was definitely a significant part of my application.

@mersyno1 dang, that sucks. hopefully your decision comes today. I actually just got back and a counselor told me that my application was in the final stages of review and I should have something within 1-2 days at the absolute latest, so my fingers will be crossed as well.

Did someone on this thread say that the average wait time for Financial Aid package after USC receiving all required documents is 5-7 business days? Day 5 now, still waiting.

@larue0712 a C in calculus most likely will lead to a rejection despite a high overall gpa. This course is very important to Marshall and by the previous business admin acceptances everyone had a B at the very least.

i lost my spring grade request from usc (physical mail). what are the correct next steps?

@larue0712 @pantafootball2 well I was actually accepted to Marshall with a C in calc 1. However it was due to a personal reason that greatly impacted my grade. I took calc 2 even though it wasn’t required and got an A just to show then I’m really good at math and I suppose they noticed the improvement along with the additional information regarding why I got a C in calc 1

@tankle104 honestly I think you will be admitted but for spring admission

@uscdream19 yeah I believe you were the exception since you did take the next level over for calc. But for most sgr Marshall applicants that are completing either the English or calc requirements during our last semester then a C will most likely lead to a rejection…

Hey guys I received my financial aid package from USC, but nothing else. Is that good?

@ejsutton2006 lol ur accepted congrats!
