@jimmyjammy6 I actually really liked Julie Chiu she always answered my emails really fast and gave me some great advice for the Spring semester because i was working 40 hrs a week and taking 5 classes. I knew I was going to barely pass my Math class so she told me to write a letter of explanation which I did. As a film major I only had to pass Math 125 (which I did with a C) but received A’s in my other 4 classes. I still don’t have much information about which classes transfer for sure but I went by the articulation agreement and covered all the main ones. I did not even know they changed counselors because she just emailed my on Friday congratulating me. Good luck to you.
@uclatft I am so sorry to hear that!! Yes you can watch the short film I submitted on my Youtube channel…Kerri Cecil its called The Journey 2017 good luck to you and don’t give up!! Try again next year
@bbzby it took 24hrs for me to see the commitment depost form so you might have to wait for the system to update. The system still wont let me register for the Orientation and get my USC email either. It says 2 weeks after the deposit.
It’s been 5 weeks now since I submitted my spring grades, should I call admissions? I don’t want to annoy them but I’m worried that they’ve forgotten about me
@SCAHopeful2017 I’ve met you before!. I volunteered to help set up a panel that happened in the fall in the student union building (3rd floor) through the club I was involved with, Circle K. I hung around for a bit, bought some snacks, then left. We were introduced but it was brief. Haha.
You posted on Thursday you were accepted so did you receive the package in the mail/portal? Or did she just email you first to congratulate you and the package is on the way? She has been nice but my first communication with her was when she emailed asking for my Winter grades. This was second week of May. Two days later I got SGR. We’ve emailed and chatted twice on phone since but I had no idea until this week Kellie was no longer the counselor. I was only worried because I communicated with her more often. I took 125 in winter and passed with a C as well. Haha. I redeemed myself by taking Statistics this past Spring and got an A. Fingers crossed. Hope I will be seeing you next year. Congrats again!
@SCAHopeful2017 oh! Almost forgot…what is your financial aid like? Do you know? In the back of my mind I keep thinking how cruel it would be to be admitted but then get sucky aid and be unable to attend for financial reasons
@katienewsom24 I also submitted my spring grades around five weeks ago, I emailed my counselor asking for a status update on my application and he just explained that students with an SGR who go to a quarter-system school have an SGR deadline of June 30 so they’re waiting until after that to make my decision.
@jimmyjammy6 yeah I put together a couple panels and we did work with the Circle K club a few times. Cool well my fingers are crossed for you. I still have not heard about my financial aide package. No I received the package in the mail on Thursday then emailed Julie a question and she emailed me back on Friday to congratulate me.
Yeah that would be pretty messed up to get in then get horrible financial aid package and not be able to pay for it.
I am beyond sad about the failed appeals of @ashurikko@Vesper7 and everybody else I was really pulling for you guys.
@greenpotatoe Meal plans are a separate entity from the housing costs, but they are mandatory so I guess they can be considered part of housing costs in a way because there’s no way you can not get one. They can definitely be pretty expensive, but if you get apartment-type on-campus housing, it is quite a bit cheaper than the meal plan for other places on-campus. Your other question is pretty unique. I’m sure they have off-campus meal plans. I think they were called Community Plans. I remember seeing them in a PDF for the 2015-2016 school year, but do some googling to see if they still exist
So they requested a bunch of financial aid documents from me. I know on one side the admissions office and financial aid office work independently of eachother so I’m not too excited about it but in also why would they request for documents this late from a student if they weren’t even going to accept them? I mean its the first time since I’ve applied that my financial aid page has looked different. Hopefully someone has some insight on this.
Hello Iam looking to apply by then end of the fall 2017 to begin fall 2018
Ive followed the articulation agreement for Fulklerton college for a BS in economics/math
I will have finished 64 transferable units along with an AA in paralegal studies and economics
My gpa will fall around 3.5-3.7 by the time I apply
My unit course workload was
Spring 16 -14
Summer 16 -12
Fall 16 - 18
Spring 17 - 23
Summer 17- 15
Fall 17 - 20
spring 17 - 18
My question is if my gpa ends up being 0n the 3.5 side do I still have a good chance of being accepted due to my completion of the lower levels courses for my major and the work load I took
Do you think I will get rescinded if I failed a class? I tried really hard this quarter to pass my Statistics because I originally applied as a transfer for UC’s and needed to complete my IGETC. But when USC accepted me, I wanted to drop Stats and take it at USC, I emailed my admissions advisor and they suggested I should keep the class and continue to to keep my admissions. Now I am paranoid that I might fail the class Does USC rescind people for one F in Srping prior of Transfer? I don’t need math as my requirement for my major.
For those of you who submitted your spring grades via the you.sc portal under the ‘Submit application documents’ tab, did the ‘Transcripts: (institution/university you currently attend)’ go away?? I submitted my transcript last week and it’s still there as if i haven’t submitted it yet
@DashiellKing you’re going to get an F? That’s really bad and I would imagine they’d rescind the acceptance but I don’t know. I would do my best to finish as strong as possible. Talk to your professor.
