@NashvilletoTexas I’m with @campingkathryn, I thought Faculty Scholarship by itself is just tuition, as my DD is not NMF. However, I hope you’re right! That’d be awesome for those that get it.
I was specifically told by Financial aid that the Faculty Scholarship would replace any academic scholarship offered by Baylor…EXCEPT the Regent’s Gold which is for NMF and already offers full tuition, in this case the Faculty Scholarship would stack with Regent’s Gold thus covering room/board/other fees. I was also specifically told that Faculty Scholarship (or other academic scholarship) COULD stack with outside scholarships or even the Carr P. Collins since that is a Leadership scholarship, or honors/departmental scholarship. Bottom line is…if you are lucky enough to get the Faculty Scholarship, the FA office will clarify for you what that means
thanks everyone. Yes, my daughter was NMF, so it is sounds like my experience of stacking may not be true for all scholarships. Unfortunate!
@postAlone Yes, I meant goBaylor account. I don’t remember exactly when, but it was pretty early…well before regular decision for Rice and other schools. Gave us plenty of time to think about how nice free would be before others got their chance!
rejected
guess i won’t be going to baylor after all
I’m so sorry @postAlone. How did you find out?
baylor email @campingkathryn
I still haven’t gotten anything
DD has not either, but I do not think she has a Baylor email yet.
Edit that. The rejection just arrived in her personal email. Really bummed. She was the only female in the computer science group so I thought she might have a good chance.
DD just got her rejection in her personal email too, so disappointed as this means she can’t attend Baylor either.
Didn’t get it either
I really hope somebody in this group gets good news!
No for my D as well.
My son got a rejection email also. But its o.k. He has the Presidential and we are waiting on few more. Knowing you would lose the Presidential, doesn’t it make it as appealing. He will most likely still be attending Baylor.
A no for more daughter as well. That takes Baylor off our list.
Wow! Nobody from our CC group got a yes. For my DS the difference between his 22K year and a full tuition Faculty scholarship was a deal breaker. No BU for us. Disappointed but he has moved on. A&M is clear front runner now. DH and I are still in mourning. All of these kids are so talented and I know the will do amazing things wherever they end up.
It’s a no for my daughter. She was in the January Honors session. So disappointed.
Bummer, I was really hoping it would be one of our kids. Good luck to your Seniors as they make their choice.
No for my D as well. There were so many people at the January session, it was really difficult for any of the kids to make an impression. Good luck to everyone else, and congratulations to the lucky few.
Chief62, sadly, I too feel that I2E was turned into a marketing ploy rather than an event intended to evaluate the most competitive students.
While in the honors event in January, the speaker stated that only the “very top students” were invited. A man asked about the SAT scores and after receiving an answer he stated that it was inaccurate - his daughter was there and she scored at 1280. (If I recall correctly.) I was stunned that someone with such an amazing low score would be there at all. I suppose he was just letting us know, he obviously had already figured it out.
We spent thousands of dollar$ traveling to the I2E event in addition to all the time my son spent on the essays, time off of school and time off of work for us. I’m still feeling a bit numb because of the “spin” versus “reality” of the I2E event.
