2018 - 2019 USC Transfer

@smc2usc I’ve heard of many people appealing and getting several thousand dollars more, but I haven’t really heard of people getting drastically different packages upon appeal. If you appeal you’ll likely get more aid, but I don’t know if that would be sufficient for your needs :frowning: If you have any documents that would demonstrate hardship, that might help too.

@sab002 did your portal update today?

@MeowModulus I am going the 11th also!

@sab002 You realize you are posting on a forum where a bunch of students incredibly dedicated to going to USC are waiting to get in/appealing their rejection, right? If you don’t think you belong, step down.

Accepted to Viterbi for Fall 2018

Stats:
Major: CECS (Computer Engineering and Computer Science)
GPA: 3.71
Transferring from CCC
A+ (in my opinion) essays
Outside internship experience at DOE lab

@chaseklvk congrats! When did you find out? Are you a sophomore or junior transfer? Did you get an SGR?

@csumit Thanks! Found out today via online portal. I did not receive an SGR and I’ll be entering as a junior.

Question for those who have decisions: do you get an email notification when there is a decision made? and if not, does the decision show up on the page when you click "Application Status"?

Also, any SCA applicants still waiting to hear?

@hellodollyy yup SCA applicant still waiting here

@hellodollyy I never got an email notification. When you click on status it shows a new PDF message that you can download - to know what your decision is you either have to read that or look at the tab on the main page (tab like tabs in your browser). Mine said something like “Admitted Fall 2018”.

@scarletred I finished my freshman year with 30 units and with a 3.8 cumulative GPA. Are those good standings?

@hellodollyy I never got an email either, found out by checking portal. The portal was really different looking, you can’t miss it.

is any other spring admit having trouble activating their “my usc” account??? also where do i sign up for orientation

@smc2usc hey I saw you were accepted to dornsnife on the 22nd, and I was too!! Where/when did you receive your financial aid package??? I’m super nervous about my COA and potentially having to appeal for more financial aid too.

i was accepted on the 24th how long does financial aid usually take to come?

I got a denial. Good luck guys, I hope you guys get in!

@MeowModulus What’s so bad about being shocked I got in and also being stressed because of how late I was notified? Clearly I do belong if they gave me an acceptance so I’m not gonna “step down” lol

@sagerheinschild Wait how would they not know? When I initially sent my transcript I was still registered to that class so they should know regardless

@sab002 I do not think the person meant you should step down if you are wanting to go. I think they meant if you know you are not going to go then perhaps you should decline the spot so there will still be time for USC to offer it to one of the people on here who do desparately want to go and would go if given the chance

So I have committed to another school because the deadline was May. I’m still waiting to hear back from USC because they asked for my spring grades(at least I haven’t been reject yet, right? :/… Anyway, registration is July 6th, what do I do if I do get into USC?? If I’m taking loans out at this school, do they transfer to USC? What about private of governmental loans?
