@kemobk you should be fine, you’ll just lose whatever deposit you put down for the school and housing
@zettasyntax Hi, thank you for your response. Yeah, I agree with you that it probably doesn’t make a huge difference as an undergraduate student. I know USC recruited good professors for my major a few years ago from UCLA. Having a lot of funding is really strong.
@CADREAMIN This was actually a very good point. As a transfer student, I’ve finished every requirement for UCLA, whereas I would have to take some GE classes at USC. So although I could graduate in two years at both schools, maybe UCLA is more cost effective because I can just take a bunch of upper division classes. But yes, the alumni is one of the big reasons why I want to go to USC. If I wanted to go to med school, I would have chosen UCLA, but I want to do research and so it seems like the connection will come in handy later on.
@elieas After you submitted your CSS profile how long did it take for the you.USC page to update?
Have any accepted applicants received their financial aid package yet??? I was accepted 5/22 and haven’t received anything. I am so nervous because USC is my dream school, but I will need around $25,000 in university grants to make this happen. Does a grant of this size seem out of the ordinary for someone with a middle class income, at USC? Does anyone know what the packages are like? sos
@redhair55 I got my package a week after my acceptance letter. And no, it doesn’t seem out of the ordinary at all, but just got to wait for now. Wish you the best.
does anyone have information on conditional acceptances being rescinded?
my letter explains that I have to have a 3.5 this semester but will likely be in the 3.3 range
USC has to give out all their decisions by May 31st right? Can someone confirm?
I’ve sent my SGR like 2 1/2 weeks ago and still haven’t received a decision or message yet.
Oddly they say that, but many don’t find out until well into June and July. But majority should hear by June 1st.
@darkhound173 The key is that you receive an SGR OR a decision by June 1st. So if you receive an SGR (and not a decision) you aren’t given a final decision date guarantee.
I’ve decided to commit to USC (marshall) if I get in. I got a SGR a while back and just submitted the grades today. I was fortunate to get all As once again and hope that everything goes well from here on out. Ultimately, I chose USC, because it just lines up well with my transfer credit and the curriculum is ideal for me. My other University would’ve forced me to take lots of classes that I do not like and I just think I will do a lot better at USC. I know nobody asked, but I have had such a hard time deciding and felt like sharing it somewhere.
@llg234 it may mean you’re a spring admit
Anyone applying for 19-20 school year ?
Just out of curiosity, does anyone know of any transfer applicants who did get rescinded after they sent in their spring grades? I’ve been spending the past few days trying to see if it’s happened to anyone on previous threads.
I recently got a SGR and I’ve received all A’s from CC - is this a guarantee admission or is there still a chance of rejection?
Anxious how late SGR final decisions come out and not knowing what this means.
@zettasyntax might I ask what your stats were when rejected after receiving an SGR? Also hoping for a spurt of SGR decisions before the June 1st deadline! If it makes any of us waiting feel better: we got through the rejection wave!
Hey checking in to see if any SCA admits have made a separate forum yet? As a way to help each other answer questions about financial aid, housing, etc.
Any other junior admits have the “conditions of admission” on the second page of their acceptance letter? It says “Please remember that your admission is contingent upon verification of official academic records, satisfactory completion of course work, and avoidance of academic and behavioral misconduct.” This is different than the specific GPA requirement some people got right? Anyone know a safe GPA to have for spring?
@Vincent1997 Hey I am happy to hear about it! I hope you get in my dear!!!
@Mareli Hello, sorry to say but just because someone gets a 4.0 for their spring grades does not mean they are guaranteed admissions… it gives you a really good chance however to set in stone decision. To me at least SGR decisions seem rather random because they accept half and reject half, it is really hard to calculate your admission chances after receiving a SGR
@CC2USC I thought that was the case. Feeling in limbo at the moment and would just like to know! Thanks for the response.
