2018 - 2019 USC Transfer

@EDodgeCayman Wow, that’s incredible and well-earned :slight_smile: Sorry about my late reply and congrats again!

@sugarcane1 Yes, uploading an unofficial transcript should be done as a PDF and the final transcript should be sent from the school officially. Did you get the letter with instructions in the mail?

@FilmAve yes my daughter received the letter. She uploaded the unofficial transcript yesterday to the portal in PDF format and will have her current cc send official this week when it becomes available. She also sent her USC admissions counselor a short email regarding the reason for a W in one class this semester.

@giriboy My portal just seemed different than others that had received SGRs. When I did call the admissions office to verify that it was an SGR, the girl that I was speaking with even noted that things looked weird on her end, so she transferred me to my admissions counselor. I got an email hours later that was more typical of being SGR’d, but this is what led me to believe that our admissions counselors are the ones responsible for SGRs. Apparently a few others that had my ad com were also asked for their spring grade in math and were rejected when it wasn’t an A.

@EDodgeCayman Yup, it would show up on FAST :slight_smile: You get like some kind of box pop up when it’s completed (or if it’s adjusted later on), so you’d definitely know when your FA package is ready :stuck_out_tongue:

Darn, I’m still waiting for a reply if I get accepted or not. I’m on TTP, wishes to transfer as a sophomore, going to a CC that isn’t out on vacation yet. Applied for Annenberg…

@jess121 what year are you

@sugarcane1 That’s great! Fingers crossed she gets in :slight_smile:

Where are people transferring from? Comment below

@MysteryO College of the Canyons!

I just sent in my spring grades in a pdf via my usc portal. (Unofficial transcript). Is there anything else I need to do regarding my spring grades or do I just wait now?

@4yourhope USC certainly doesn’t have much time left to meet their deadline huh? Unless you got an SGR. Even so, you would think they’d be swift with TTPs that received an SGR.

@transferstudent3 Nope, you just wait. Some people have been hearing back extremely fast. But others can wait a long time. When I sent in my spring grades (waaaaay back in 2014), it took me about two weeks to hear back.

For my Annenberg folks, did anyone have to fill out the change of major form? I just called Annenberg admissions and apparently I was supposed to fill out that form in order to be considered??

@student767713 Applied as a Junior transfer.

Hey y’all! So I sent in my appeal on Friday, and my counselor emailed me back this:

Thank you for reaching out. Unfortunately we do not have a formal appeal process for transfer applications. I’m happy to add this letter to your application, as appeals are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Since we do not have a formal process, we do not have a timeline when we will get back to you with a decision.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Is this the normal response? I thought she had to forward it to the appeals committee?

Anyone use Grammarly for their essays

Has anyone from SMC been able to reach our USC counselor? Whenever I send him an e-mail I never get an answer back or I receive an automated message that he is on vacation…

@sushiaddict96 Mine got another job recently so I also got an automated message too,. And I called and they told me to email this other admission counselor (who I guess is supposed to be my new counselor) but he never replied.

@zettasyntax can you explain what exactly that you thought was different and unusual? i dont know what its supposed to look like but i got a sgr too

anyone haven’t heard back yet?

I got SGR but I am not taking spring semester. so i submitted official transcript including all semestets. my advisor wend forward and removed the SGR.

Do i still have of getting in? plz help me

@giakhanhngo123 Hey I’m in the same boat! Admitted for another major, but was planning on switching to Annenberg (my first choice) in the fall. I watched this video by Tasha and she explains how she switched from undeclared to Annenberg! Looks like I’ll have to make an appointment with Annenberg and then fill out a form. :slight_smile: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JY2rnlku2GQ
