@aznboi4981 As mentioned earlier, they don’t technically have appeals committee for transfers. Personally I have never seen (at least on here) a transfer getting in on an appeal. Would love to see you be the first. And in the regular pool of over 1000 trying, only about 20 had a successful appeal last year.
EDIT Welp, just emailed her back saying it sounded good and all, and I received an automated response saying that she is out of the office until June 5th. Hopefully she added the letter to my application before leaving.
@aznboi4981 sent my appeal today and my counselor replied: “Thank you for your email. I will add this to your application. You should not submit any additional information at this time.” so Idk what that means
I think their responses mean that once all decisions have been released and students begin committing appeals will be reviewed and overturned if your stats are decent and space permits.
@redhair55 my situation is a bit different I believe. So I was accepted in late March to my second choice major in Dornsife. However, I was never rejected or accepted by Annenberg. In my letter, it said something along the lines of “The school of Annenberg does an additional review of their candidates and will notify the office of admissions when they have reached a decision.” When I called them in March, they just said to give it time. Nowhere did it mention anything about submitting that form.
@CADREAMIN there were a few transfers admitted on appeals last transfer year. We made a GroupMe to keep in touch and we all heard around the same time (late July - very early Aug). @zettasyntax can vouch for me.
@jjcc77 Great info! Yes, cc is a small percentage then add to that the transfer threads grind to a halt mid summer. Most wouldn’t think about coming back to post.
@CADREAMIN Yeah, I convinced @jjcc77 to explore the wonderful world of linguistics by taking LING 385 for one of his GEs And just to add to the appeal timeline, when I sent my appeal back in 2014, I didn’t hear until mid-August. It was just a simple email that said something along the lines of “the original decision stands”.
@giriboy This was four years ago, so I really can’t remember exactly how it looked. This was before youSC existed and it was called USConnect. I should have taken a screenshot, but the status message just wasn’t consistent with how I heard other people describe it. Sorry if that’s not terribly helpful It was just weird because when I actually talked to my admissions counselor, he said that he only cared to see my grade in math.
@woshua Oh really? I really need to talk to a counselor asap because I got accepted for fall, but I might have to defer a year… I don’t know who to contact about this or how the process works. Anyone familiar with the situation?
