2018 - 2019 USC Transfer

Why does USC require SO much verification for financial aid. I have already submitted so many documents and they are still asking for more. If you compare this to the UC’s they just ask for FAFSA… I wanted to see what my FA would be at USC before making my decision but I might just give up tbh…

What is the average time for a response to an admission decision appeal?

Would you assume that all (or the majority) of rejections have been sent out? Not including SGR’s of course.

@Tuttwirl have you heard anything? my friend is still waiting ahh

@giriboy you know you can always send a grade report signed by your teachers

@CADREAMIN, fwiw, I took a quick look at Georgetown and Vandy’s respective transfer threads. It would appear the level of frustration and delay is high for those schools this year as well.

@heyguys6767 Did you get a SGR? I also haven’t heard back anything from SCA.

Good to know! I guess it is just painful being a transfer at a lot of places. I always just liked the single notification time of decisions that a lot of schools seem to pull off.

im hoping I’ll hear back for my SGR this week

@Vincent1997 i go to a UC so i cant do that because theres no way my professors will know my grade first since theres like 400 students in a class lol

My last grade posts tmmr and im submitting my sgr grades. I took two major prep classes, gen chem 2 and gen bio 2, along with a random ge this semester. Got A’s in all classes. I put in my best effort this semester and i hope admissions will see that as well. Hoping for quick decisions and good news for all who got an sgr.

I don’t know if this helps those who are waiting to hear back from SGR, but my spring grades were requested on May 4. I sent in my spring grades on May 17, and the request disappeared from my portal on May 24. And then on May 25, I got in. The process was fairly fast for me, and I’m now committed. Best of luck to you all!

@asc1999 Thank you. It’s very reassuring

@jjcc77 hey do you mind sharing your stats with me when you appealed your usc rejection?

@asc1999 can you share your stats and your spring gpa?

@smbxjr I got a 4.0 for in my fall/ winter/ spring term

@HeyItsNick expect a decision late July -first week of August.

Today in the mail I got notified that I’m a transfer merit scholar, so anyone else getting it should hear back soon since I’m all the way in NY. I’m 100% sure I declined admission to the school but when I went on the portal today it said no such thing. I’m gonna decline again and email them about the scholarship. Is there a place I can post my stats?

You can post your stats on the stats page

@sagerheinschild Yeah I’m still waiting. Got an SGR in the first wave of decision back in April. Seeing more and more SGR’ers getting in sending grades in later makes me wonder. Hopefully they update portals today.

The only thing that gives me hope is I see in Informed Delivery package that says pre shipment from Riverside. Does that mean that it could come from anywhere in SoCal? Does the USC package get put into mail pieces or packages on ID?

I’m getting so tired of waiting for an answer. It’s USC air busy for me.
