2018 - 2019 USC Transfer

what was ur gpa, year in college, etc?

CONGRATS! what was ur gpa and stats?

Congrats! What were your stats?

@phunphunphun wow that’s a long semester! My semester ended on May 4th and sent spring grades in May 7th. I’m kinda hoping for a decision tomorrow (lol I say that every day!)

@FilmAve I thought it was a long time as well. I’ve seen in the past no one with as early of a semester ending wait this long. I read up and saw that early SGR’ers hear by June 15th. I’m a Dornsife IR major. 3.97 GPA. This is my third time applying to USC sans it’s my dream school.

I hope all who see this get in and follow theirs dreams like I am trying to!

Hey guys… who else is sick of this waiting game lol? So here’s where I am at… I’m an English major applying for Dornsife. 3.89 gpa, 30 credits, student athlete, and community service, no legacy. I applied waaaaay back in November and have been emailing my councilor Jaclyn Robin. I received a spring grade request in mid-May, sent a hard copy and unofficial to my councilor which she said she put on file all in the same day. I haven’t seen too many people from the Midwest talk in her but any other IL’s? Every time I check the portal all it says is spring grade request, even though I sent that. I know you guys don’t know the definite answer but it’s nice to hear other outlooks. I know in threads in the past people have said they sent in their SGR and heard back a week later via the portal. Haha I also downloaded USPS and have been checking like 20X a day. Any body else’s not changing?

@ktlady mine didn’t change so I emailed my counselor and she told me she had no record of my spring grades being sent…so maybe you would want to double check (I just sent mine twice through parchment but I think im going to call tomorrow to make sure they got them)

@transferkid24 hey that sounds great. I’m going to do that too

@ktlady besides being a different major, I have literally the same story as you. Same counselor, sgr, etc. Not sure how they decide who’s applications they review first after SGR, but maybe it has something to do with the counselor? Or maybe a decision has been made, but they take turns uploading so as to not tax the portal? Who knows

If you guys have heard nothing, don’t hesitate to contact your advisor and make sure they have everything!! Even if portal shows everything complete. If no SGR and you have heard zippo, check in with a friendly, "Hello, I wanted to ensure you have everything you need…USC remains my number one choice…blah blah blah.

Short and sweet, but check in.

Does anyone know if it’s possible to delay a fall admission to spring? Without any family or financial related reasons? I got an opportunity to do a research program in the fall and won a student senate election. I know this may be minimal but I really wish to stay for another semester at my cc, but don’t want to piss off my counselor. Any response and help would be appreciated!!!

& best of luck to the people that are still waiting!! Try to relax and enjoy the start of summer! Someone mention that “patience is a virtue” in the thread, and thinking about that helped me a lot with the anixiety. Im crossing fingers for everyone!

@durtysouth Hmm if you have a good reason I think you should but if not then you’ll still have a pretty strong GPA. good luck bro hope we’ll both make it in!!!

hey you guys. so i got into USC for this fall, but it looks like i’m not going to pass one of my classes I need to transfer. I am going to call USC but in the mean time, does anyone know how they look at this? Do they rescind your acceptance? do they let you retake it in the summer before transfer?

@yungmeriko
You’re definitely in danger. Can you drop the class or somehow pull it up to a C? USC will allow any course taken before you officially start there in the fall to transfer, but they’re going to want to see your final transcript and could rescind. There is a clause in your acceptance letter that either specifically states a minimum GPA to maintain, or says something like “successful completion of the semester.”

Good luck

They have no problem with you deferring your acceptance a semester! I was advised by admission though they cannot defer your admission a full year, because they chose you for this particular class.

@metoo632 so I emailed our councilor and she said she received mine! But she said I wouldn’t know until the wave of decisions on July 1st. I’m kind nervous cause on last years thread no one posted in July…

Several people posted last July that they had just been accepted.

@Tuttwirl Thank you! I’ll go ahead and email my counselor then!

Hello, I got accepted to Marshall for 2019 spring. With a reasonable reason, is it possible to change enrolling term to 2018 fall?

@CADREAMIN oh cool! Do you happen to know the link?

I have jaclyn robbin for an admissions counselor, too. I emailed asking when decisions would be out for SGR and she said not till july and that she wished me the best luck going forward, which seems to me like that means a rejection is coming my way. idk, done posting on here till then.
